Friendship test. [Eng-Esp]

One beautiful summer morning, my best friends and I set out to go fishing. We got all we needed and of course we were super excited about it.

All schools were on holiday so we had the time of our lives to have fun in the summer sun close to the crystal river that flowed in our town. The river was the most peaceful and had many edible fishes. It was gonna be my first time fishing but I couldn't wait to throw my line hook in the water and wait for it to catch a fish. My friends were ready to teach me because they were experts at fishing because they live in the countryside while I only visit during summer holidays.

When we finally got to the river, the view was really amazing. The nearby bushes had beautiful wildflowers, the river had pebbles in it and I couldn't help but admire the wonder of nature. I always wished to stay in the countryside because it's beautiful and peaceful but my parents won't let me.

"Hey Elma, grab your pole and line hook and come over to this side, there are lots of fishes here" Clara, one of my friends said. With eagerness to catch a fish, I quickly grabbed my fishing tool and went over to meet them. I threw my fishing hook in immediately after attaching a bait to it.

Few minutes later, something was pulling it. It was so heavy that I couldn't pull it alone, so my friends joined hands to pull with me. As we pulled and pulled, Talia fell into the river. It was a deep end and we didn't have any life jackets. I and Clara panicked as we let go of the fishing line looking for a way to help Talia out of the water before she drowns.

We paced to and fro thinking of what to do as none of us could swim in a deep end. Talia began to drown, immediately I sighted a log which I quickly picked up and got in the river with it to rescue my friend. I paddled with my hands and when I got to her, she clung on to the log and we got back to safety.

Thankfully she wasn't bitten by any fish nor did she sustain any injury. "Let's go back home'' I said. They looked at me and laughed saying "you just passed our friendship test Alma, we're best friends for life who'll always help each other no matter what". "So this was all a test"? I asked, feeling very disappointed in them and they nodded with a grin. I chased them around and we played in the river but not at the deep end anymore. The deep end was just to catch fishes, not swim.

Prueba de amistad.

Una hermosa mañana de verano, mis mejores amigos y yo nos dispusimos a ir a pescar. Conseguimos todo lo que necesitábamos y, por supuesto, estábamos súper emocionados.

Todos los colegios estaban de vacaciones, así que nos divertimos como nunca bajo el sol del verano cerca del río cristalino que pasaba por nuestra ciudad. El río era de lo más tranquilo y tenía muchos peces comestibles. Iba a ser mi primera vez pescando pero no podía esperar a lanzar el anzuelo de mi línea al agua y esperar a que cogiera un pez. Mis amigos estaban dispuestos a enseñarme porque eran expertos en pesca porque viven en el campo mientras que yo sólo voy de visita durante las vacaciones de verano.

Cuando por fin llegamos al río, la vista era realmente increíble. Los arbustos cercanos tenían hermosas flores silvestres, el río tenía guijarros y yo no podía dejar de admirar la maravilla de la naturaleza. Siempre he deseado quedarme en el campo porque es hermoso y tranquilo, pero mis padres no me dejan.

"Oye, Elma, coge tu caña y tu anzuelo y ven a este lado, aquí hay muchos peces", me dijo Clara, una de mis amigas. Con ganas de pescar un pez, cogí rápidamente mi herramienta de pesca y me acerqué a ellas. Tiré mi anzuelo inmediatamente después de ponerle un cebo.

Pocos minutos después, algo tiraba de él. Era tan pesado que no podía tirar solo, así que mis amigos unieron sus manos para tirar conmigo. Mientras tirábamos y tirábamos, Talía se cayó al río. Era muy profundo y no teníamos chalecos salvavidas. Clara y yo entramos en pánico mientras soltábamos el sedal buscando una forma de ayudar a Talía a salir del agua antes de que se ahogara.

Nos paseamos de un lado a otro pensando en qué hacer, ya que ninguna de nosotras sabía nadar en aguas profundas. Talia comenzó a ahogarse, inmediatamente divisé un tronco que rápidamente recogí y me metí en el río con él para rescatar a mi amiga. Remé con las manos y cuando llegué hasta ella, se aferró al tronco y nos pusimos a salvo.

Afortunadamente no la mordió ningún pez ni sufrió ninguna herida. "Volvamos a casa", dije. Me miraron y se rieron diciendo "acabas de pasar nuestra prueba de amistad Alma, somos mejores amigos para toda la vida que siempre nos ayudaremos pase lo que pase". "¿Así que todo esto era una prueba? pregunté, sintiéndome muy decepcionada con ellos y asintieron con una sonrisa. Los perseguí y jugamos en el río, pero ya no en la parte profunda. La parte profunda era sólo para pescar, no para nadar.
