Z logiky vyplývá, že v takovém kmeni ta část, co přežila dost dlouho, by měla vojenské zkušenosti a jinou úroveň než branci.
Britský náčelník Caratacus vedl partyzánskou válku v jednom momentě co nejvíc opevnil svou pozici a chtěl ustát Římský nápor.
I Když bitvu prohrál a utekl.
Vzestupu a pad Říma
What is a professional army anyway?
If we take the tribe of the past, where everyone goes to war and it is a common thing. Can veterans be said to be professional soldiers and form a professional army?
Even if they do some farming in between.
Officers Corps
Logic implies that in such a tribe, the part that survived long enough would have military experience and a different level than conscripts.
I guess, like when an army loses thousands of veterans or recruits it makes a difference.
Give me an example of the right decision in my opinion.
The British chieftain Caratacus was waging guerrilla warfare at one point he fortified his position as much as possible and wanted to hold off the Roman onslaught.
I'm under no illusion that the hastily constructed fortifications were god knows what. But yes he certainly had reason to think that it wasn't entirely without chance. Even when he lost the battle and fled.
But were his men professional soldiers if they were only concerned with hurting the Romans X time?
The Roman army
Yes it was more mobile but without formation the legionaries weren't worth much I think.
As was beautifully put in the documents.
The rise and fall of Rome
When the legionaries fought in Rome against the rebellion. So they were fucked.
These are just my opinions.
It could have looked all sorts after all there were people who lived in peace or those who lived in war. And there were lots of variations in different places and times.
And the quality of the warrior dustmen etc varied. After all who lives in peace or permanent war behaves differently .
