Hive Onboarding Rewards.

Many marketing people already now (on Hive), it's not worth to spend time on onboarding for personal finance.

People that work in the space of a lead generation or other type of that affiliate now, spend the time on other work would be more valuable. That's the reason no professional does the work.

Because there is no way to earn.

  Notice: other big social networks paid in early (1year old + range) also for new users. 

Depending on the Industrie a lead can be really valuable. Blockchain advertisement is in Bull markets expensive as hell and in bear much cheaper. The reason is less competition.

If you are not from the marketing space, an example is a gift card for an email subscription.

Sure we got now ways like "@hiveonboard" to get some share of value from new customers (users). But to cover some costs for professional work, that's not enough.

OK, now we know the first problem.

Second Problem: pay per wallet:

The second we had in the past was onboarding also cost money ( Resources / Hive/ and on endgame level Blocksize)

Problem number 2 was the root we never got any exponential growth on hive/steem.

For the second problem, I have some solution here: Prefix/suffix additive for Wallet names. It doesn't fix all problems, but it helps.

Back to The onboarding rewards:


Now to the first one again. How we can get professionals to work on onboarding. Simple with high rewards.

As far as we all already know, every active user is valuable ( community is the value). So a bigger community is a bigger value.

So it's worth it to reward these people for this work.

What is the work in short points?

-Advertisement strategy ( this can cost money. or use resources they already have like followers)
-educate new users ( can be really hart for non-crypto users)
-make the group of new big enough they stay
-onboard them.
-.....

There would be more points but I want it understandable and simple. It's only to show up, it's work needed, and it's not for free.

The Solution "Onboarding Rewards",

Pay per lead would not work ( spam account creation). So what it can be?

Onboarding rewards depending on the user's actions.

Different Leaderboards for referrer with:

  • most powerups ( combined), can be a high watermark system*
  • most post rewards (combined)
  • most transactions ( combined)
  • plus maybe some other good points.

*high watermark means if someone powerup 100k hive and power down and up only the shit over 100k count. also, it can be limited to 1k hive per wallet to the wallet to make abuse less profitable.

So all new users that the referrer onboards make lifetime rewards ( or over some time, maybe 12 months).

Every week they can earn for every leaderboard money (Hive/HDB).

This would be paid from DAO, The number must be high enough to attract Influencer that wants to use hive and also earn + marketing people that want to earn some extra cash ( maybe some content marketing for onboarding banner or whatever).

If the weekly payout would be 4k+ (as an example), people would start to work for it.

About the leaderboard:


It could look like:
Week 52 combined posting rewards leaderboard(at low hive price):

Bob: 500$
Ben: 300$
John: 260$
....

These rewards are combined from all user they onboard. It's less likely it gets abused because only rewarded Posts/comments would count.

Rewards could look like:
Place 1: 500$
Place 2-3:100$
Place4-10 50$
Place 10-25: 10$

So the price of Money for week 52 would be 1150$ ( HDB) for that leaderboard.

Tracking could work over @Hiveonboarding with a referral link. Would be also a synergy for more earnings.

Would it work?


At the start, the system would be less efficient and it would become more competitive over time. With rising numbers, the result should also grow.

With 500$ first place professionals don't care. But little YouTubers with some thousand followers find it maybe attractive.

Also, Facebook group leaders have one more reason to educate the people to come over to hive.

Or people that are looking out for a personal block find a banner for hive and sign up over the link.

  • In the End, more users = higher demand for hive = higher price ------->.

  • Higher price = more DAO money = higher fundings possible---------->.

  • Higher Onboarding Rewards = More Attractive for Marketing people = More Users

That should work out really well in a long run. Because it's a proven concept to reward the work for new users.

This should not be a stand-alone marketing plan, but it would be a perfect tool to reward onboarding work.

Btw some you should know. We need to fight against the way bigger budgets in the online world. 4k is for marketing like nothing.
