Who knows? Fun is rather subjective, and if you're asking a question then you need some way to measure the level of fun, which I'd say would be quite challenging indeed, so it's a mute point. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

Perhaps those game masters can have a survey of the players who fought game masters as NPC boss enemies, whether such game masters control those NPCs publicly or secretly. πŸ€” In the case of secret NPC control though, they should make the survey only after they announce that they indeed took control of such boss monsters. πŸ€“

That seems like a reasonable methodology for collecting useful game data to improve game play. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

Survey results can be inaccurate though, as some players could simply try to finish such survey as quickly as possible, especially when anticipating rewards for completing such activity !INDEED. πŸ€―πŸ€“

In surveying people in general, there should be no (direct) reward (or at least an expectation of reward) to make it more likely for the respondents to answer honestly. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ

People could be rewarded, just don't tell them that they'll be rewarded. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

In the case of (online multiplayer) games, the players won't take the survey at the same time, such that some of the first players who answer such surveys and get rewarded would tell about such rewards to others, so the rewards would quickly no longer be a surprise. πŸ€―πŸ˜…

OK, then make rewards random, some get rewarded, some don't, and nobody knows whether they will or they won't be. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

That might discourage players though who want certainty in rewards when answering those surveys !INDEED. πŸ€―πŸ˜…

Then just give up on the idea of using surveys at all. Create a framework for players to leave their ideas and suggestions, and be done with it. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

I knew a few (multiplayer online) games where reporting bugs (as well as typos, no matter how minor) in the game would reward every player that makes such report, regardless of how many players have already reported such bugs before. πŸ€“

I rather like that idea, and it would give the dev team more motivation to fix the bugs quickly. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

I know that you mean that the longer a particular problem (even a minor typo that is not at all gamebreaking) exists, the more rewards players will get. πŸ€“ Those accumulated rewards might cause inflation of the game's in-game currency, for which developers must create even more fun items to compensate for the inflation. 😏

The admins of that game can not only ask for bug reports in exchange for rewards, but also ask for (valid) suggestions on how to fix those bugs for even greater rewards. 😎
