Forever Friends In The Making
Hi Everyone,
Our recent weekend away was one we planned last year but due to COVID, we had to push it a year later which I consider long overdue. The friends who I went away with are friends I've met since primary school and we have been on numerous trips together to different parts of the globe, they are friends a value highly. Friends like this are hard to come by, who you can rely on where it will be only you and them in a foreign place we have proven that we trust one another, look out for each other, and discuss anything if needed. Now we have kids of our own, and we have been on camping trips together and numerous weekends away. This changed when the kids all started going to school so we could only catch up over school holidays but this has not changed how the kids bonded.
On the particular trip, I would have thought the kids would take some time to warm up but I guess that is not needed. The first thing they did was check who plays Roblox and that's how it all started, nothing changed and they all had a great time together. From watching a movie together, playing in the sand and making each other dirty, playing Roblox together, doing craft/art/quiet time together, enjoying a shaved ice at the park, or even walking around the local town, they were together.
I could see they will be good friends if we continue to have these trips together as the kids are similar aged and all have similar interests. This in particular works well with the parents as the kids are all settled, looking out for each other while we the parents can sit back and have a good catch up over some snacks and drinks. This is what friendship should be like and I do hope the kids will grow up together and continue going on weekend trips away as a group.

I took a quick look at Roblox, and I found that basically it is a Second Life (the virtual world) for kids.
Looks like this is the new trend nowadays. A few years ago the kids (in general) played mostly Fortnite, and even earlier Minecraft.
When I was a kid, I played mostly MS-DOS and a few Windows games.
oh ms dos?? gosh that sounds a long time ago hahaha
now days kids are so much tech savvy haha
I can see that you had a very fun party, good for you, I'm sorry you had to postpone it for a year, the new illness was something terrible that changed our lives, I also had a long time without seeing my schoolmates but today we finally graduated. greetings, my best wishes to you.
I guess it is better than not able to go so postponing it a year isn't too bad. Congrats on the graduation!!! exciting times ahead for you

You know I really like it when I find people who say they keep their childhood friends, because I think they are trustworthy people, for the simple fact that they value a friendship with flaws and virtues for years.
I have my childhood friends too. On the other hand, it gives me a little laugh, when they worried about getting the kids together, the truth is that they manage on their own to have a good time, it is us adults who complicate our lives according to our experiences...
