Food Sharing #309 - Lucky Pierrot @ Hakodate, Japan

If you are in Hakodate, you need to try out Lucky Pierrot. Lucky Pierrot is a chain that is only in Hakodate and there is no intention of their management to move outside of Hakodate. With over 15 stores in the prefecture, it is a must visit when you see one. Each store has a different theme but they sell similar items and from what I heard, they are all of good quality food which the locals love. They are well known for their burgers and the Chinese Chicken burger is their best seller and considered the best local burger in Hakodate.

We visited the one in Hakodate Bay as it was a bigger branch and even in the afternoon, there was a line of people getting food. Luckily there were lots of seats available so the line wasn’t too bad after all. There were lots to choose from their menu include burgers, omurice, steak patties, desserts, curries, and more. We ordered two Chinese chicken burgers, cheese chips, and an omurice to share some drinks. We saw the sizes of the servings thinking ordering 3 things main things were enough.

Once the food came, we knew we over ordered. The rice was huge and it was very tasty, with lots of egg and sauce making it a hearty meal. The burgers also were huge and chunky. The chicken definitely was juicy like what the reviews mentioned and in my opinion, better than the KFC burgers we have in Sydney. Not to mention the cheese chips, that was a hit between the boys. The sauce apparently was so tasty they wanted more but told them there was too much food or else we would have ordered another serving.

The service here was brilliant. The ladies looking after the tables and cleaning after each customer was super friendly. They bought some wet towels for us when they saw the kids having the burger was an extra touch as they know trying to juggle two kids and mess can be a bit difficult. The location was perfect after a day walk to the bay and depending on where you sat, the view was pretty awesome. Don’t forget before you leave, check out the gift store selling exclusive items to take home. Highly recommend trying Lucky Pierrot when you are in Hakodate, remember it's only available here and nowhere else.
