Food Sharing #264 - Sayulita @ Lane Cove, Australia

Hi Everyone,

My kids love to try different cuisines and I’ve noticed we rarely have Mexican food so I thought we should let them try it out. Due to BB E’s gluten restrictions, Mexican food is actually not a bad choice as there are lots of corn chips and gluten free tortillas. We decided to try Sayulita at Lane Cove next to the grass area so after our meal, the kids can go and have a play at the equipment while I do a bit of shopping for week.

Let’s check out the food menu. Lots of choice but we ended up order a kids fish & chips, kids pollo & cheese quesadilla, a pollo tinga under mains and birra quesadilla. Seems like a lot of food but we were super hungry so should be able to demolish it all. We wanted to get some mocktails but forgot about it until the food came so we will try them next time.

The kids meal came first. Generous servings for both kids and the food came out nice and hot. The kids quesadilla was super cheesy and BB E loved it a lot. The portions were generous so they both couldn’t finish their meals so hubby and I ended up having the rest of their food.

Not long after, the adult meals came. The birra quesadilla was nice but nothing spectacular but my pollo tinga was really delicious. The wraps came out nice and warm and was perfect for two adults to share if you order some sides or another main like ours. The potatoes and black beans were done perfectly and I actually preferred to eat the sides over the chicken even though it was nice but the sides were the highlights. I loved the variety on one plate with a generous serve.

The service here was friendly and we loved the outdoor seating. Although it was a cloudy day, it was still nice to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. They do have some big blinds blocking any wind in case it gets windy so it was a great place to catch up with friends over a nice cocktail or mocktail. There is free parking downstairs of the canopy and you can finish off the day with a shopping like us - great way to end the weekend!

hello!!!!
Mexican food is the richest, but my opinion is not valid because I am Mexican ahahaha
It's good that you gave your children the opportunity to eat it, the truth is that everything is prepared with corn tortillas, even in my own country we have a joke about it.
