African Coins and "African" Coins

The coin is legal tender. Today, only states issue them. Their purity, quantity and all other parameters are determined by law. Anyone can issue a medal.

The first two coins are Somali. Is the Somali state doing so well that it can issue investment or commemorative silver coins? I don't know how Tchad is doing... Only South Africa can really afford those coins.

In fact, the Tchadian coin is minted in Bulgaria, at the Bulmint mint. Somali coins are minted in Germany, at the Bavarian Mint Bayerische Hauptmünzamt. Only the South African krugerrand is really minted in Africa. In the South African Mint.

I assume that the European mint just paid some kind of fee to the government of that country to issue investment coins under that country's name. They aren't actually true African coins... Except for the last one.

But from silvegoldstacker's point of view it is not important. The coin weighs one ounce of pure silver. Also, those coins are beautiful...

The South African and Tchadian coins are the same every year, they only change once a year. It is enough for me to have just one piece of each in my collection.

On the Tchadian coin you see a bull and a bear, symbols of growth and decline in value. I don't know if there are bears in Tchad...

But on Somali coins, the African elephant and leopard change every year. So I will be buying these every year.

You will notice that my photos are not perfect. On the one hand, I take photos with my mobile phone, but I also have coins in plastic capsules that reflect the light in all kinds of ways. And of course, I'm not a good photographer.

I'm starting to write under #silvergoldstackers. I want to write about myself that I am 56 years old. I'm a teacher. My English is not great. I have been collecting coins since I was 14 years old. But it wasn't until last year that I started buying new ounce coins...

If there is interest, I can also write about other than new coins. Have a nice Sunday. Stack on!

I'm hoping to see Standard Weights and Face Value Numbers on all Silver and Gold Coins...

For older circulating coins, the weight is not indicated. But since they were legal tender, that value can be traced. But it is by no means a standard weight or purity expressed in OZ.

I'm thinking about a New Product Line of "Circulating" Silver and Gold Coins with Standard Weights and Face Values...

Already in the past there were trade coins made of gold and silver. Usually ducats and tolars. Do you want to mint such coins yourself, or are you hoping someone else will start?

We the People own the Rights to all U.S. Coinage... We will have Silver Coinage, Gold Coinage, Platinum Coinage, Palladium Coinage, Paper Coinage, Electronic Coinage and Common Coinage... Our Electronic Coinage will have Dollars, Cents and Decimal Cents... Our Paper Coinage will range from One Cent to One Hundred Cents, and our Common Coinage has already been Corrected and will continue to Range from One Cent to $1... I came up with a New Product Line of "Circulating" Silver and Gold Coins...

Many counties often contract outside their borders to mint general circulation and commemorative coins. The usual reason is that they do not have either the capacity and/or expertise to mint coins.
Welcome to #silvergoldstackers @trautenberk
Personally, I would enjoy topics on old, new, even some non-precious metals especially if they represent some historical significance.
By the way, as far as bullion and Commemorative coins, there is a 'fee' for the government of the country called a 'Seniorage'.
