Liverpool FC finally got a win against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg after their three-match losing streak in the English Premier League. Majority of persons including some Liverpool fans expected the Reds to be defeated as they are currently in a run of bad form coupled with too many injury cases. However, Liverpool surprised these sects of persons as the scored two goals past the German side in the clash.

When it comes to the UEFA Champions League, Liverpool FC seem to have more experience than RB Leipzig, in which this season appears to be their first appearance. I think this experience is what the Reds used to beat their opponent. We also saw a change and some improvement in the Liverpool backline. One of which was the presence of Ozan Kabak in the central defensive position and he really did impressive in the game. He won many tackles and intercepted a few times. Every other Liverpool player performed better when compared to their recent English Premier League games.

The game which was played in Hungary, Budapest was supposed to be played in RB Leipzig's stadium in Germany but due to the issue of COVID-19 and travel bans by Germany, a neutral ground had to be chosen. The match ended with 0-2 scoreline in favour of Liverpool and this double away goals favours Liverpool a great deal. It was a tough game as expected and the first half ended in goalless tie. The first goal of the game came from Mohammed Salah in the second half while the second goal was being scored by Sadio Mane.

Mohammed Salah happens to be in a good scoring form this season in all competitions. In the English Premier League, he is the highest goal scorer netting 15 goals not minding the fact that the team isn't doing very well in the league. I hope he continues in the scoring run and eventually get to win the golden boot. More so, the man of the match award was given to Mohammed Salah as he performed outstandingly well against RB Leipzig. Liverpool will go in the second leg of the round of 16 being the advantaged side.

As such, there is a high chance of them qualifying to the quarter-finals. It will be too early for anyone to write Liverpool off this season as they could possibly win the Champions League. In the same vein, Kylian Mbappe dealt badly with Barcelona has PSG thrashed them 4-1 at Camp Nou. Liverpool will host Everton on Saturday, 20th and I'm certain they'll win given this boost they have.

Liverpool Forever!

I see so much inconsistencies wwith Liverpool this season. They don't behave like defending champions.
