The Rock Fortress Sigiriya...
Hello Everyone,
Some people say this is the 8th wonder of the ancient world. It's on the UNESCO world heritage list. I do believe Sigiriya & the ruined fortress should be added to the Wonders of the ancient world.
Around 470-500 AD, King Kassapa (I) built this fortress to secure his kingdom & life from his brother King Mugalan. There are a lot of stories behind this Rocky Fortress, but the mystery here is how they managed to bring water to the 180m height & how they manage water pressures during that time.
World-famous Sigiri artworks of princesses & the mirror wall bring tourists attraction as well. Unfortunately, it's prohibited to take photos in these locations. When you plan a visit to Sri Lanka, you should not forget to travel to Sigiriya & spend your time at King Kassapa's fortress.
