THE QUEST FOR LINGUA FRANCA

I have this love for history and enjoy reading historical fictions. It's always super duper interesting I tell you. It occurred to me once that not everyone in the world looks the same, we all have different skin color and speak different languages and that is cool first of All.
I also got to realize that with our indifference it was difficult to understand each other's language which I assume brought confusion amongst people around the world .

Have you ever thought of or imagined how displeasing it could be for someone not to understand a message you are trying to pass just because he or she can't understand the particular language spoken at that point in time. It could be teeth gnashing no jokes.
Years ago when I was in kindergarten my teacher taught us about the different languages we had in the world. She listed a lot honestly. I was confused, I said all humans have two legs, two eyes, two hands, five fingers and more but why was our language different? Why don't we speak the same language? I couldn't go talk to my teacher but decided to throw the query at my mum immediately I got back home.

The moment I got inside I didn't wait to take off my school uniform lest I forget the impending question that I had for my mom and threw the question immediately without wasting time.
My mom, you know, is always ready to answer any question I ask her and without hesitating she sat me on the couch and referred me first to the Holy Bible. She explained to me that from the beginning every man had one language, not until the people decided to build a tower called " the tower of babel". I Asked her what that was and she said the people wanted to put this amazing structure up just so they could reach God whenever they wanted.

I was dumbfounded. I loved the idea but my mum said that God didn't want that to happen so he caused a confusion amongst them by changing their tongues( languages ) they couldn't understand each other anymore and so each man went his own way that's how the differences in languages came about. The story was just cool. I pictured everything in my head and could really understand how tragic it must have ended after putting in their all.
You know even if you can't reach out to your teacher at school we always have the best teachers at home who are always ready to give us listening ears. Kudos to all mom's.

Reading the story above you could actually derive the emotional turmoil brought about and the disaster prolly caused which only resulted in the;

Quest For A Shared Language

It is obvious that in our world today the shared language of communication that is used everywhere in the world is the;

"English language"

The language is a common one spoken around the world. Research has made it known that the English language is a West Germanic Language that originated from Anglo_ Frisian dialects brought to Britain in the mid 5th to 7th centuries and by Anglo_ Saxton migrants from what is now northwest Germany, southern Denmark and the Netherlands.

The Evolution:

The English language has never had an official standard; it has evolved through the centuries and adopted many thousands of words through overseas exploration, international trade and the building of an empire.

From my recent study so far it has progressed from a very humble beginning as a dialect of Germanic settlers to a global language of our 21st century. It is a rich language with tens of thousands more words in it's vocabulary than any other language. Super cool right? I know!! When you have a student studying English in the university this is just what you get. LoL. Cause I'm kinda going crazy about it.

The emergence of this life saving language has brought ease and satisfaction to everyone around the world. Now we can communicate to whoever, on whatever platform using a common language that everyone understands.
