Didi, a college student, just had her boyfriend break up with her just a day before Valentine's day.

What was she gonna tell her friends who envied her relationship? What was she gonna be doing on Val's day? All these thoughts ran through Didi's mind as hot tears ran down her cheeks.

"Hey di….,"(Rushing up to her) "what's wrong? What happened? Why are you crying? is everything okay? Please talk to me" her best friend Ellie asked her as she sat closer to her.

"I'm I'm I'm" (sobbs even more). Oh Didi! It's ok? Things happen,it's not the end of the world, I know how hard it feels but I'm sure he just let angel go please don't cry I'm here for you okay? She pulled her friend close and hugged her tight, rubbing her hair.

Didi couldn't sleep at night. She was on her phone checking to at least see if Daniel was online but he wasn't.

"Maybe I've been blocked" she thought, "Am I that bad? But I didn't do anything wrong" she sobbed as she dug her fingers into her pillow and cried silently.

"Wake up Didi,'' her mom called, shaking her to get up. She struggled and murmured before raising her face up.

"Why is your face red baby? Were you crying"? "Oh mom"! Didi exclaimed as she hid her face behind her pillow.

"I'm sorry baby, I wanted to wish you a happy Valentine's day but it seems you're not in a good mood. Actually I have a surprise for you and it's outside so please could you wear your slipper and come with me"?

"Mom, I don't need any gift, please leave me alone". She sulked. "Oh darling mommy wants to cheer you up so please, I promise it's gonna be your best Valentine's gift ever".

Didi grumbled as she got out of her bed and slid her feets into her fluffy pink slipper. She slouched as she walked out of the room. Her face covered with her palms and her hair messed up, she still looked beautiful.

"Taddah"! Her mom exclaimed and Didi got her hands off her face. Daniel was right there kneeling with a card in his hands which said "please be my Val" Didi rubbed her eyes to be doubly sure she wasn't dreaming. She didn't know how to react, she just broke down in tears, nodding her head as the word"yes finally got out of her mouth and she hugged him.

"I'm sorry I had to play such a prank on you Didi , it was my own way of surprising you. I love you so much. Happy Valentine's day".

Didi's mom got so emotional that she remembered the good old days and wiped the bead of tears that dropped from her eyes.

"Congratulations again both of you and happy Valentines to you all" Ellie shouted from behind the couch which she hid behind all the time then she got up slowly, with eyes popping she winked at the lovebirds and they all laughed.
