It was 12:AM already but Nina couldn't get any sleep. She rolled from one side of her bed to the other with her head filled with thoughts.
She wished the morning had come already so she got up and went about her normal day's job instead of getting to lay down without sleep and feeling heavy in her bed with ghostly images appearing anytime she closed her eyes.
She picked up her phone and played her favorite blues which she thought would aid her to sleep but the moment she closed her eyes, the same image appeared and she would wake up.
The face of the person was unknown, she couldn't see the face because the person had her hair covered all over her face, the body looked like that of a girl in her late teens and her skin looked pale, she was barefooted and longed to speak with Nina but Nina was too scared to just close her eyes and listen.
Was it a dream? She thought but no! It wasn't it was more like a vision, it was more like someone wanted to talk to her and really needed her attention and all she could do was just try to overcome her fear and close her eyes tight.
She put up courage and this time she closed her eyes, then the same person appeared again and finally spoke.
"Nina"! She called with a very shaky and loud voice causing Nina to tremble as she thought how the ghostly person knew her name. "Please don't fear, please! I won't hurt you, you're my best friend and I need your help".
Nina was shocked to her bones as she heard the word you're my best friend She looked up straight to the girl's face as beads of sweat appeared all over her skin.
Her best friend was murdered a month ago and there's been no trace of who murdered her. "Can I see your face"! Nina requested and then the girl raised her hair to the back. It was Nina's best friend indeed. Nina was shocked and at the same time wished to hug her, so she moved closer to get a hug but her best friend rejected it.
"You can't hug me Nina, I'm dead now and I don't have enough time to spend here so let's proceed to the main reason I've always been coming to your sleep and rendering you sleepless. I'm going to show you who murdered me and I need justice! Nina justice"! She sobbed a little and all Nina ever wanted to do was hug her and run her fingers in her blonde hair.
"Follow me" Nina followed her and they got to a river, there her best friend showed her how Vera their school mate had murdered her because of John whom she claimed to be her boyfriend.
A bead of tears dropped from Nina's eyes as anger took over her. She couldn't imagine that Vera would do such a thing, John never loved her, he loved Tracey (Nina's best friend). Nina got so furious that she could strangle a lion at that moment if anyone dared her.
Tracey took her eyes away from the water as she faced Nina. "I know you can do this for me", she gave her all the vital information which would aid in digging out the truth, then she smiled and said goodbye for the last time.
Nina cried as she opened her eyes once again, this time her mom was standing beside her, her clothes had been wet from sweating profusely and her eyes red and swollen from crying. Her mom had watched her shiver and seen tears flow down her cheeks all the while and had tried waking her up to no avail at this time it was morning already.
Nina was speechless when she was questioned by her mom of what nightmare she had that caused all her reactions. She couldn't say anything but got out of bed, brushed her teeth and prepared for the day ready to take up the matter.
It was going to be vengeance for her best friend by all means. If the police weren't gonna help, she'd take laws into her own hands. She ignited her car's engine as she zoomed off leaving her mom in suspense.
She didn't go sleepless to let the matter slide and she was going to go sleepless to make sure her friend got vengeance.
