Without snow, it’s much more difficult to tell how safe we are while we hike deep in the forest!
Last year Keith, one of Silvertop’s neighbors had a LARGE Male Cougar run across the road in front of his car!😳
He stopped one day to tell me about the encounter…………..
“Silvertop it was HUGE……and don’t even think that you can outrun one of these Cats, it was FAST!”😺

“PEPE, why don’t you walk ahead, and “Break Trail” with that Big Hairy hiker up ahead!”😇

We do seem to be short on deer this year. Just as deer have babies, so do cougars and then they need more territory, so it's no wonder the deer aren't here. Sad too.
It is sad Liz....... new babies growing up in our back yard should stay here where it's safe!!😇

You have to watch out for those deer while driving, they can mess up your car! lol
As for cougars, they usually avoid people thank goodness. Unless they are too sick to hunt deer or other game, then they do attack people. They are very clever stalkers, you never see them coming which is why they can be so dangerous. Always keep that bear spray handy, I also usually carry a .45 when I'm in bear country as a backup plan!
