The blood pouring from my hand wasn’t from a chainsaw accident…………..
No, it wasn’t PEPE………🐸
Do Frogs have red blood?🤔
Silvertops hand, had a close encounter, with a few very large, very prickly, blackberry vines….. Ouch!😳
Someday I really need to find out what my blood Type is, I try to avoid needles at all cost Lol!😬
I could see my breath this morning, but with no rain, Silvertop decided it was time to fire up the chainsaw!💪☺️
This isn’t a simple cut and stack the firewood situation……..🤔
You can see from the photos, these two trees fell into blackberries, among other thick weeds!🙄
It’s Firewood extraction at its very finest my friends Lol!🙄
After cutting what you see in the photos, Silvertop spent hours carrying branches to a nearby brush pile!😅
Then the cut firewood needed to be wheelbarrowed several thousand feet uphill to my firewood splitting and stacking spot.🥵
I can hear you now………
Silvertop, why don’t you use your pick up truck?
This time of year, my pick up truck would become a permanent fixture in the far backyard till spring time. Everything is so wet!😳
OUCH……. THAT, wasn’t a branch!😮
Well at least next Spring we will have less Blackberry vines to contend with!😇
Blackberries are the fastest growing vines I have ever seen!
I can cut them back along the edges of the back yard, and a week later they are back…… hanging six feet into the grass!
How does that happen?🙄
It was now 3 PM, and like clockwork, the rain started……………
At first you ignore it……….
Then you mutter a few choice words under your breath………🤔
Harder, and harder, the rain started coming down!
“PEPE, that’s it for today my green friend!”😅
PEPE?…………………….
He was standing out in rain, just enjoying the liquid Sunshine looking UP Lol!
“Dis very nice Winter weather Silbertop!”🐸
“If you say so my friend, I’m going back inside!”☺️
“Silly Silbertop!”🐸……………….
“Silly PEPE Lol!”🤣………………..
Silvertop is going to light a fire in the wood stove, I think I have plenty of firewood Lol!😇

Those two big maples fell among blackberries?!? Ouch indeed! I do not envy you in that endeavor, my friend! One great benefit to wheelbarrowing all the wood up hill is that you get some great exercise! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Well, it would keep them at bay long enough for you to be able to recover the wood! I love that whole genus, Rubus, but yeah, some can spread rather prolifically! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
Very prolific up in the Pacific Northwest my friend..... the birds carry the seeds from the farms down below, and blackberries cover just open land just about everywhere!!🙄
Yes, I've seen that, and it can make certain areas almost impassible indeed! I have an Indian species here that is also showing itself to spread quite quickly, and it's a thorny bugger too, but man are its fruit wonderful! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
That definitely can be a Catch-22… delicious fruit, yet very thorny and difficult to harvest…….OUCH!😬😳
Oh indeed, and this Indian species, called a Mysore blackberry here (though I think that it's really a black raspberry), produces huge amounts of delicious fruit in wave after wave, and harvesting them requires a whole lot of care, I must say! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Those blackberry vines are prickly, and grow very fast! The berries taste great though! Too bad they make collecting firewood so much more of a challenge. You may not like needles, but make sure you're up to date with the old tetanus vaccine if you are working around thorns. They can carry the bacteria at times!
