“A Light In The Darkness!”😇
I really didn’t know what to expect at Church this morning, so many people were affected by the recent flooding…….
Would we have an empty Church today?😮
“Valley Church”, sits on a slightly higher plot of land, surrounded by lower neighborhoods that were completely underwater!
You can see our Pastor “Kyle” standing under the “Exit” sign in the first photo……
“Kyle, do know they are calling for another atmospheric river?”🙄
Perhaps that’s why he picked this spot for a quick exit Lol!😇
Today we had a candlelight service for all of our friends and neighbors in the valley that are suffering physical and emotional loss from this storm!
Kyle said………………….
“I told myself, no jokes today, we want to prey for everyone that was affected by this flood”……………
At this point our Pastor lit the very first candle. Then it was to be used to light all the other candles everyone was holding.
Pastor Kyle recently started wearing glasses………………….
Liz started to laugh as everyone watched Kyle without his glasses try to light the plastic candle holder, the wrong side of the candle INSTEAD of the wick Lol!🤣
I think this was actually what everyone needed……..😇
I started to hear laughter!🤣
Instead of somber faces, people were laughing, not at Pastor Kyle, but at the stressful situation the valley was in at the moment!☺️
Later on in the day, I decided to hike up to the top of the logging clear cut. I wanted a “Birds Eye view” of the town of Sumas and Everson!
A Bomber pilot once said…………
“Up here everything looks beautiful, you don’t see the devastation far below!”

Everything looks beautiful down below, most of the major flooding has completely receded!😊
Down in town, it’s a completely different story…………🙄
Hopefully this next storm doesn’t play out like the weather forecast is predicting…..
The towns of Sumas and Everson, along with everyone else, needs a Merry Christmas!🤗

Yep-we all needed the laughter for sure, but dear, you forgot to mention that he blew it out accidentally twice and had to relight it accordingly. That was also funny because he was trying not to laugh!
