“The Sky Is The Limit!”😅 My Actifit Report Card: December 9 2025

“ The Sky Is The Limit!”😅
The rain stopped………………
“Silvertop I just got a text from a friend that lives close to the Nooksack River, she said it crested SIX inches from going over the levy!”😳
Liz and I decided it was OK to drive down into the valley, we were headed to Costco!😊
We crossed a small creek before driving over a larger bridge that crosses the Nooksack River……….
“The creek is definitely up Liz!”😮
When we finished shopping, we headed up to Lynden for our “Coffee Date” at Starbucks!🤗
“Locals” refer to the first two photos as “Lake Lynden”!😳
“Silvertop, I don’t think I have ever seen Lake Lynden so large!”🙄
Each year the river backs up, and floods this low lying field………….
Today as far as the eye could see, there was nothing but water!
Look closely at the third photo of the river…….
To the right, the shoreline is actually a very tall earthen levy.
Continue further right out of the photo, and you would be looking at “Lake Lynden”!🙄
I don’t believe the levy was breached last night. I believe that as the water table starts to rise, it finds its way from the river channel to the adjoining fields!
Liz and Silvertop decided to drive down to the “Everson River Park”.
It was difficult to get close to the river, thick mud covered what is normally a well traveled hiking trail.
Check out @elizabethbit post she has a 3Speak video of the river!😍
The powerful current of the river had once again carried large trees and piled them up along the shore!
“Silvertop, the river level is down to 78.72 feet, that’s a relief!”🥰
“The rain is supposed to start again tonight honey!”🙄
Hopefully…. not as much rain as last nights storm!😮
Stay dry everyone, Silvertop is looking for the Sun!😎
Till tomorrow Mike😊

It's beautiful and terrible all at the same time! The power of the water is a bit intimidating and I know from what I've heard, that if you have the misfortune of falling in even under normal conditions, you can get pulled under and trapped in the root systems of those downed trees! Scary!

Glad we chose up valley dear, for our home!🤗🎄😘😍❤️

Yep, up in the foothills is a far better location for your home, that's for sure, yikes! Building near rivers or floodplains is really never a good idea, or in areas like that that flood regularly. I'm glad that you two got into town, to the river, and back home, without issues, my friend! Maybe a sun dance is necessary? 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Ugh! I think that you might need a quadruple-strength sun dance, Mike! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

That's a lot of water flowing down that river, really close to flooding! Hopefully you don't get too much more rain!

Beautiful pictures, I hope that gray goes away and the sun returns soon!
