“ Knee-high by the Fourth of July!”🤗
“Liz, Corn just grows like a weed up here Lol!”🤣
In the Pacific Northwest, you are either growing berries, Wheat ……..or Corn Lol!😇
No rain for weeks, and the Corn fields look lush and green!
It’s strange how just a few hundred feet in elevation can change everything……………
For years the Mrs has tried to grow a garden. She does have a small outdoor garden greenhouse, and this definitely helps!😊
We even have an electronic Wi-Fi digital thermometer so we can check in on the greenhouse temperature 24/7!
When we lived in the High Country of Colorado, most Summer days you could feel a steady breeze coming “up” the valley towards our home. Then in the afternoon, this wind reversed, and came back down towards the valley!😊
In the foothills of the Northwest, we have this same situation…………..
By evening, even in the Summer, a cool to almost cold breeze comes back down from the Mountains!🥶
This makes growing an outdoor garden quite a challenge!🙄

This year, some of the berry fields have switched to growing Wheat!
The Mrs was telling me that this variety( that you can see in the fourth photo) is a shorter variety, compared to traditional wheat fields!
The shorter stalks, are much sturdier, and resist being blown over by wind or rain storms. You are getting more Wheat and less stalk …. thereby less waste!😊

With the Hot Sun beating down on us during today’s hike, PEPE wanted to take a break at Keith and Lynne’s garden…………
“Silbertop, dis box’s of grass smell funny, taste funny too……Man!”🐸
“PEPE, you’re standing on top of two compost bins, my friend! I really don’t think I would eat anything from these compartments Lol!”😳
“Have you cooled off PEPE, we have lots of new trails to explore my friend!”☺️
“Let’s do dis Silbertop! I jump inside your backpack, for a bit……. You lead the way!”🐸
