Florida suffered severe damage from hurricane Milton, but things could have ended up much worse!
The forecast was a storm surge up to
15 feet, and it looked like the eye of the storm was headed straight for Tampa Florida!🙄
When I turned off the news, it was a category five. It was forecast to drop to a category three as it hit land.
Hurricane Katrina was also a category three as it made landfall!😮
The next morning I saw that it made landfall 70 miles South of Tampa, at Siesta Key in Sarasota County.
This is a smaller community of approximately 5,500 people, compared to Tampa with over 403,000 people…………….
Looking out across our Bay in the Pacific Northwest you can see land to the West.
The beautiful San Juan Islands!😎

On the Western side of these islands that are natural storm barriers, lies the open waters of the Pacific Ocean!
Wild and unpredictable!!!😮

I think the hurricane was so widespread it did damage to both communities unfortunately……🙄
Someone told me that there is another hurricane out in the gulf now!
Hopefully it will lose steam and not make the Florida Peninsula!😇

Yes. Luckily Milton lost some strength before it hit Land. I’m not sure I could live in a place that gets so many hurricanes and tornadoes now ? I’ll take the 4’ snow storms instead. #pepe 🐸 to the Moon 🌙
I'll have to agree with you, I can't imagine living in a place that gets hit regularly by hurricanes and tornadoes!
We were even watching an old movie last night that was situated in Florida and they were boarding up the windows with plywood😐
