The Storm Rages On! 😅 My Actifit Report Card: February 25 2024

The Storm Rages on! 😳
Today was one of those days that wasn’t “ fit for man or beast “!😅
The rain poured down as Church let out a bit late …..………….
Silvertop needed a hike Lol!😇
“ Liz, I wonder how fast the streams are flowing up at the Gold Mine Trail? “😊
“ Silvertop it’s raining, do you really want to hike? “🤔
Cot and Cyle, huddled around the wood stove, as Liz struck a match to the kindling……😻
Silvertop was on his own…………
Today would be a wet adventure! 😅Everyone else was staying home, enjoying a toasty wood stove fire! 🥰
I really didn’t expect the Gold Mine Trail to be so Muddy!😳
The first mile or so, was just like you see in the second photo, only worse!😬
People had placed 2x8 boards on the muddy trail to create somewhat dry spots!
I knew from past hikes, that eventually as the trail headed up steeper grades, the trail would be in better condition.
The third photo is the Lautenback farmhouse. They own the private trailhead, and have been gracious enough to allow hikers access!😊
I guess they figure if people want to slop through a muddy trail to get to the Gold Mine, it was OK with them Lol!☺️
So onward Silvertop hiked…………
This beginning section has an electric fence along the left pasture side.
Walking very close to this electric fence proved to be the least muddy trail.
“ Careful Silvertop, you are only inches away from getting zapped! “😬
Was it worth the mud?
As I neared closer to the Gold Mine, I could hear the loud sound of the rain swollen stream far below!
Every small side tributary creek was flowing fast, dumping collectively into the larger stream below!
I hiked past a fork in the trail that would either take you uphill to a historic log cabin, or onward to the famous Gold safe!
Decisions, decisions ………..
What trail to follow today!☺️
I decided to look inside the Gold safe!
Liz tells me the latest exciting NFT’s are the 8,888 Pudgy Penguins!🥰
Maybe I will find one inside the safe Lol!🤗
Did Silvertop find one inside????
Hmmm Lol……………….😇
