Kurt my neighbor, hasn’t collected any Maple syrup! You need below freezing nights, and then above freezing temperatures during the day, for the sap to start rising!
In the third photo you can see the newly formed buds on this tree.
Even the forest thinks it’s Springtime!😇
What a change from three weeks ago, the Mountains were sleeping under a blanket of white!
Today will be a short hike, Liz and Silvertop will be spending the day visiting our oldest son Mike, and his Wife Christine!🥰
It has been a while………🙄
Far above Seattle, Phoenix, our “Grand-dog” is taking our youngest son Bill hunting…………..

You can see the Olympic Mountains behind the city in the third, and fourth last photos! You really need to look closely at one photo!😮. These rugged Mountains rise approximately 8,000 feet above sea level. Beyond these Mountains, lies Pacific Ocean!😊

Interesting how Liz and Silvertop both have “ redheads “ in our family’s, and somehow it skipped Silvertop Lol!😇

Oh, I'm not aware that's how to harvest maple syrup.
Yes this is how “real” Maple syrup is harvested. Then it is boiled down to the final product!😊

Oh... so maple syrup does not just come out? Good to know, @silvertop !
It’s very interesting @silversaver888 , we tried it one year.😊
It takes approximately 15 gallons of liquid coming out of the tree ( sap ) to boil down to a quart of golden delicious, pure, maple syrup!🤗
No wonder they are so expensive!
A quart for $34.95!!
To produce good quality, Maple syrup it’s a tremendous amount of work @silversaver888 !🙄
