“Pack it in, and pack it out” implies taking INTO the forest, what you are able to carry on your person, and bring it back home!😀
Many things packed inside Silvertop’s backpack are essential…………..

Liz will tell you, being prepared is looking up…….like this “ Widowmaker tree” above the Mrs!😳
“ Liz, I am being prepared, see this one tree fell down, these two other trees might topple soon, Silvertop will hold them up Lol!”😇

How does the old saying go…………………….
“ If a tree falls in the forest, and no one is around, does it make a sound?”😇
Logging is essential for the lumber to build homes. Westergreen a logger on Sumas is a very responsible, and respected logger. He replants thousands of acres with seedlings every year. Years later he harvests some of the trees he has planted, and the cycle continues!😀
Now look at the Douglas Fir tree in the photo after Silvertop!
Our neighbors Keith and Lynne, had one logger trespass onto their land, and this is the result of steel cables used illegally, to pull large logs!
This particular logger had the opinion that no one would find out!😮
Keith spotted this happening on their land, and eventually had to take the logger to court for a settlement that Keith won!😀
Hopefully these historic trails will stay “as is” for generations to hike and enjoy!
Most of what we hike on the Gold Mine trail is department of national resource ( DNR ) land.
Lautenbach the homeowner at the trailhead, has graciously allows hikers to use his property to access these trails.
He stated in the past there was a push to record this as a historical spot!
That would be awesome!🤗
