With the Sun low in the sky, the forest trails are much darker!๐ฎ
Maybe Silvertop needs to โCarryโ on my hikesโฆโฆโฆโฆCatnip that is !๐๐ป
I actually looked this up, and they say the โmajorityโ of cougars will be affected by catnip!๐บ

I finished โrippingโ those Cedar boards I bought, and started trimming out two patio doors today!๐

The goal is to hike, and be back out of the forest BEFORE dark!
Next week the time changes, we โfallโ back, that will make beating Sunset more difficult!๐

I learned that if you hold your open hand up to the Sun, each finger between the horizon, and the sun, is approximately 15 minutes till sunset!
All four fingers with the sun above, would give you an hour till sundown!๐

They are silly for sure! Yes, catnip might do the trick for the cougar, but it also might present one or two issues for you; 1) where are you gonna put that 50 pound bag of catnip?
and 2) you might get more big kitties all at once than you bargained for!๐๐๐

Yes the shorter days make exercise a challenge! Sounds like you have a good tool for gauging how much time you have until sunset. And you don't even need to remember to bring it with you!

That's interesting that cougars like catnip, good reason to now grow any in your yard. They hibernate don't they? I'm not sure on that one...
They say that cougars and cats in general can sleep 18 to 20 hours a day!๐บ
So they really donโt hibernate, or maybe you could say they hibernate all the time Lol!๐ป๐

Oh we do from time to time, and it's on us to deal with it, because of how far in the jungle we are. Sometimes huge trees fall across the road, and it becomes a neighborhood chainsaw party! Excellent! That's so good to hear! Yay! ๐๐๐โจ๐ค
