It’s Halloween, where did the days, or should I say Months go?🤔
Silvertop needed to pick up some Cedar boards in town today, to finish trimming out two patio doors……..
“ Liz, why are we having a traffic jam in our tiny town of Lynden Washington?”🙄
“ Silvertop it’s rush hour Lol!”🥰
Lynden only has a population of a little over 16,000 people…… it doesn’t have traffic jams Lol!😀
That’s when I saw HUNDREDS of very small Monsters, Ghosts, and many other scary creatures crossing safety together across an intersection!😇
Ahhh……. It’s halloween!😀
Our first stop, was at the local True value hardware store to pick up nails.
That’s when we noticed that all the stores in the town were encouraging kids to come in for trick-or-treat candy!🤗
“ That’s so nice Liz, times are so different now days!”🥰
We have read that in some towns unsuspecting children have been handed drugs instead of candy for trick-or-treat !😮
Our cashier was dressed up as a witch, with a cauldron full of candy!
“ Liz, does Silvertop get any candy for buying nails Lol?” 🤣
“ I don’t think so honey Lol!”🥰
Next stop Home Depot for my Cedar boards………….
Once upon a time @actifit-lamb had looked up a formula on line to determine the age of Western Red Cedar trees.
Lamb keeps scratching my laptop keyboard, so I asked her if she could remember the formula without booting up Dads computer!😇
It goes like this……………
First measure up from the bottom of the tree 4.5 feet……….
Then measure the circumference of the tree………..
Next take that number in inches, and divide it by Pi ( 3.14 ).
The answer you get, can be used on a chart online to give you a very close approximation of the age of each species of tree!🤗
The Western Red Cedar tree you see in the fifth photo, that is growing just ten feet from our house, is approximately 531 years old!😀
This Cedar tree was just a seedling in 1492!😳
We have a half a dozen “ Old Growth “ trees like this, and they will continue growing happily in Silvertop and Liz’s woods!😍
Rain will be coming tomorrow, that’s OK, it was a beautiful day!😀
A trip to town…..a Coffee date with Liz,
