I wonder where this leads to?😀
No worries my friends, Silvertop knows where he’s going!😇
Far up this secluded gravel road lives Jeremiah!😀
With snow frosting the top of Sumas Mountain, ( check out @elizabethbit post) Silvertops thoughts turned to a Winter storm from last year…….
It was a cold Christmas Eve, an intense nor’easter was blowing horizontal snow across the valley!🥶
Numerous trees had fallen taking out power to thousands of homes!
Silvertops Solar arrays were iced up solid, and the worst part was …………….
The internet was DOWN!😳
I checked my gas cans for my generator, by this time they were empty!
“Liz I’m hiking to town to fill up a gas can!”
We had a small window where we could make a cellphone call. My oldest son was going to meet me with a full can of gas at the bottom of the Mountain pass.
Two miles I hiked downhill in this storm.
A half a dozen cars were stuck at the bottom, I could see my son parked next to a t-Mobile truck pulling a trailer with a commercial generator!
“ Dude, you’re not going to drive up to the Phoenix cell tower unless you have a snowmobile Lol!”🤣
I thanked my son for bringing a full gas can for Mom and Dad, and started the two mile hike back uphill home.
That’s when I met Jeremiah………………
“How far are you going Silvertop?”
I discovered that Jeremiah was my neighbor.😀
I hopped into his four wheel drive pickup and we headed uphill!
We became seriously stuck several times, but he persevered, and eventually he made it to the bottom of my road!😅
“ A very Merry Christmas Eve Jeremiah!”🤗
Today the Sun was back, no storms, just a beautiful Fall day!
I think it’s time to enjoy a hike, Winter is just around the corner!😇
