Saturday was finally here, and Liz and I were ready for todayโs hike!
โ Silvertopโฆ.down the mountain Pass, I saw the โ mother loadโ of all Mushrooms, I need photos !๐ฅฐ
The Mrs wasnโt exaggerating, check out @elizabethbit post for her macro photography of GIANT Mushrooms!๐ณ
Silvertop had his eye on other thingsโฆโฆโฆโฆโฆโฆ.๐
The Ladies started hiking down the Pass, and thatโs when Silvertop made a slight detourโฆโฆโฆโฆโฆโฆโฆโฆโฆ
This section of the forest is dedicated to our neighbors Chocolate Lab that just passed away, they named it โ Dukes Woodsโ๐
I posted a very artistic chainsaw carving of a large Salmon leaping out of the water a while backโฆโฆโฆ
Now to show you the other wood carving that are scattered deep in this Cedar forest!๐

Itโs not just Bears, Silvertop also discovered Wolves, and other mythological creatures chainsawed into Cedar!๐

Some really talented people doing those sculptures, I've been watching in the past some tv shows about them and it always amazed me the things they were able to create, great mind visualisation must they have, of which I have almost none :)))
I agree with you, I donโt have the talent to create works of art ๏ฟผ like these๐ฎ๏ฟผ
It is fascinating to watch them start from a tree and then see the final product !๐ค๏ฟผ

Yes indeed, very much so! That's pretty cool, and I see why! I wish that could work here, but the fungus eats all wood if moist, and often amazingly quickly! ๐ ๐ ๐ โจ ๐ค
That happens here as well, thatโs why they choose Cedar wood for their carvings. Cedar is naturally decay resistant!๏ฟผ๐๐

The cedar trees grow hundreds of feet tall up here in the northwest!๐
