Clean air zone ahead!😊
“ Liz we can hike here, they have clean air!”🥰
Well the forecast called for the smoke to blow out by noon today…….
The hazardous air quality, 142, was still hanging around at midday!😲
The Mrs told Silvertop………….
“ No hiking today!”🤔
So I convinced her to drive down to the Everson City Park!😊
This “Park” was once an island, you had to walk over a foot bridge to get here!😮
The river changed its course in 1901, I’m not sure how or why?
Ball fields, and open picnic areas………….
Silvertop prefers more shade, but it’s a nice City Park!😇
It had been a while since I walked down to the Nooksack river from this park.
I followed a “Nature Trail”, that became a sandy riverside trail.
“Careful Silvertop, rough trail ahead Lol!”🤣
The trail closed in a bit with brush, and then dropped at approximately 45° downhill for 6 feet in length……….
“Liz, that was the “Rough Trail Ahead Use At Your Own Risk Lol!”
Liz tells me, because this is a City Park, they need to extra careful with people………..😇
It’s interesting to walk the gravel river bed.
In the middle of one of our worst droughts, the river flows onward……………
It’s not until you look at the last two photos, taken facing downstream, that you get the full impact of the drought!😳
Dry gravel riverbed for miles !!!!😮
The Mrs was saying……………
“Silvertop I know you don’t want any rain now with your painting, but we need a little!”🥰
OK Liz, maybe just a little!😇
By the time I started writing my post our air quality had improved, it was sitting at a moderate 58!
That’s so very good, take a deep breath!🤗
