Are we going to the fair?🤗
“Are you tired Liz, this is harder than mountain hiking Lol!🥵
Early this morning Liz walked Phoenix, we didn’t want an “ accident” while we were at the Northwest Washington Fair today!😇
I filled up her water bowl, and the Mrs fixed her food for the morning, and we were off to the Fair!🤗
So much to see and do!!

@actifit-lamb decided she was going, and hopped into Liz’s backpack!🥰

One year at the Fair, it was very cold.
Then a heavy downpour started!😅
The water pressure rose in the local rain storm sewer at the base of this water tank, and blew a steel manhole cover completely off, causing a geyser of water to shoot into the air!😳
Not this year…………..
90 Fahrenheit, not a cloud in the sky!🥵
We started early, that was a good call!😊
By evening, you will be shoulder to shoulder, shuffling your way through a crowd of thousands of people!😲
First the Cow barns, then we headed to the Birds!😊
One of my coworkers, Dennis at the Lynden newspaper, always enters dozens of his pigeons for judging…..
Silvertop snapped a photo of one of his prized pigeons!
This one is named “Freebird”!😊
When we first started going to the Fair years ago, free concerts were held at the rodeo ground, the price admission included all rodeo grounds events!😇
We have watched Brooks & Dunn, Rascal Flatts, the newsboys, and many more, from the shade of these bleachers!
Just before Covid, the managers of the fairgrounds, decided to charge extra for these events!🤔
Upwards of $42 plus entry admission, plus $10 parking!😳
Liz and Silvertop were surprised to see the grandstands were free this morning for the rodeo!🤗

You are looking at a team of two thirty year old Mules……………….
They are doing very well for their age!
The rodeo announcer was excited to tell everyone about these mules, and their driver!😊
What’s so special is that this Man is 85 years old!🤗
Keep on keeping on!!!🤗
I hope Silvertop and Liz are still hiking high up in the Mountains at 85 as well!🥰

The Northwest Washington fair is in the town of Linden Washington. You can see Canada from this town. It’s that close to the border. 😊

We haven’t gone since Covid, they actually closed the Fair one year!😮
I have heard the “Fair” takes 30% of the sale price from every vendor, so they jack the price up even higher!🤔
They need some cash to pay out to the performing acts! Bands don't come cheap!
So very true, nothing now days is cheep!😲

Hahaha... the driver's age is still older than the two mules put together, hehehe!

Next they brought out 3 year old children to ride Sheep........what an age difference!😀

It makes for some very large crowds!
We have learned over the years to go early, and you can actually walk through the activities.
By late afternoon it’s shoulder to shoulder everywhere !😊
Everyone looks forward to this each year, it runs 10 days only ! 😊
That sounds like a good plan, and I see why! I'd go early, too! 10 days seems like a long time for a fair, but since I don't go to fairs (or at least I haven't in many years), perhaps not! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

The fair used to run only one week, then Covid hit……
It shut down for one year completely, and many wonder if they’re trying to make up for lost revenue !😇
