Silvertop was talking about hiking all morning ……………….
“Liz, where is @actifit-lamb ?”😲
It looks like Lamb is gone, I think she heard us talking, and she went hiking!😊
We had a good idea where she would go……………
We hopped into Silvertops truck, and headed to an infamous trailhead just a couple of miles from home!
Driving to this trailhead, we were sure to catch up with Lamb hoofing it!😇
Up a steep grassy hill we started, Jan our friend came along for the search for the lost Lamb!
We entered a deep forest of centuries old Douglas Fir, and Western Red Cedar trees.
Horse tracks………
The sign said hikers only……hmmm!🤔
We crossed rocky creek beds, and climbed up another steep bank………
No Lamb in sight!!😳
Finally Liz started down the trail to the “Stamp Mill”………
There was @actifit-lamb, playing on top of the Gold safe!🥰
She wanted to explore the remains of the Historic Sumas Mountain Gold Mine!🤗
Mom said Lamb was getting all dirty!
“Well Liz, she was looking for Gold Lol!😇
“Sorry Lamb, the Gold is all gone!”😮
Liz it was an exciting adventure today, let’s take Lamb home…………

It has been a while. It is very serene so many hiking trails you can get lost for hours actually days!😇

No Gold my friend, this was actually a very elaborate scam just after the turn of the 19 century. The crooks built a very elaborate mill, three mines, ornate dance hall complete with dance hall girls……
Then they salted the three mines with Gold, and filled the safe with Gold nuggets!
Investors came from as far a New York……
Everyone lost their money!😲

Well sounds like the crooks made out OK, they sure didn't lose everything! Before they invested they should have researched the geology of the area to learn that gold wasn't real likely there...

Eight hours later I had three tiny Gold flakes, and a very sore back Lol!😇
