Soaring Eagle trail is one of Silvertop’s favorite trails, it has a view from up top for miles!😊
How fitting for today’s post, since today is special for Silvertop!😊
Forty five year ago today, I climbed out of a Cessna Cherokee cruiser aircraft………
The FAA flight Examiner signed my log book…………and Silvertop was now a licensed pilot!🤗
Many interesting flying adventures I have had!😊
Landing on small grass fields, you could feel the vibration of the field as the aircraft gently touched down!
Holding short at a major jet airport on the tarmac, and having the captain of a large commercial jet give Silvertop the “Thumbs up!”👍☺️
It’s no wonder that I enjoy being up high in the Mountains!😇
Computers have come a long way since 1978 as well!
The third to last photo is the standard issue “Flight Computer” the E6B….
The next generation of flight computers brought the electronic version( similar to a calculator),
My friends, this wasn’t a simple calculator, it was programmed to perform every function the E6B could do……
And it only cost half a Month salary Lol!😳
If I only had my IPhone back then Lol!😇

Well maybe it was a Seagull………

A good friend of ours is a retired traffic controller…..
I told her “radar” lost my plane on approach to Greater Cincinnati international airport!😳
She said ….” We always hate you guys in small planes Lol!”😇
They “found” me on radar just as I was on final approach!😅
When was the last time that you got to fly in the pilot's seat?

The planes are fine in general, it's always the pilot at fault! :)))
Usually that’s true, some pilots are just accident waiting to happen !😳
That looks like a beautiful hike! That must be fun being a pilot, I've though about it but just haven't had enough free time. One months salary... ouch. I bet they're cheaper now! Just looking at the chart there is enough to give you a headache!
