COME ON IN THE WATERS FINE!😀.............. Actifit Report Card: June 12 2023
Come on in, the waters fine!😊
“Where do you want to go today Silvertop, it’s your day!”🥰
One more trip around the Sun with my lovely Lady!😍
How about we go down to the bay honey!😊
On the weekend “Boulevard Park” can be very busy with hundreds of visitors! Not so much on a Monday, it’s a good day to explore this water park that connects our two local towns.
It was cool and sunny in the late morning.
We started our walk from Bellingham to the nearby town of Fairhaven Washington along the elevated boardwalk…….
The tide was coming back in, passing ships were creating waves that crashed onto the rocky shoreline………..
Silvertop was enjoying the day with Liz, and also a “FREE” breve latte from a nearby Starbucks!😊
Guys if you get the Starbucks phone app, on your Birthday you get a handcrafted drink of your choice!🤗
My good friend @runridefly was a Starbucks barista!
Silvertop is still looking for a Birthday Latte delivery from him from down in California Lol!😇
This is an easy enjoyable 5 mile round trip hike, that ends near the Alaskan ferry terminal.
We always look for the Alaskan ferry every time we come down to this park……..
“Look Liz, is that the ferry docked at the terminal?”😲
As we approached the terminal, we could read “ Evergreen State” written on the side of this large ship!
Check out the last photo……….
I pulled out my IPhone and searched………
This retired Washington State ferry, was built in 1954, and was retired in 2015, and sold to a private owner for $290,000😊
It floated quietly in the large slip next to where the Alaskan ferry docks!😊
Hmmm………
“This ship is impressive Honey, maybe on our next trip down we will spot the Alaskan ferry!😇
“A very nice day Liz, we need to come back again soon!”🥰
Till tomorrow Silvertop Mike 😊

Happy Birthday @silvertop 🎂
Thank you @kerrislravenhill!!🤗😊🤗
Now that's a big boat, must cost a fortune to maintain! Sounds like you guys had a great day, looks beautiful.
From what I understand the owners parents are extremely wealthy ……..
Sounds like it’s just a big toy for him Lol!😳
Sounds like a fun toy if you have the cash!
Very true……. A very expensive toy Lol!😇🤣
I wish that were in my budget!
Lol…… same here Lol!😇
Happy Birthday Silver, and that looks like a most beautiful way to celebrate it.
It's too bad they don't do tourist runs with that ferry anymore, we watch the ships come and go in Duluth and sometimes on St Clair River on live cams on youtube, check out the Master's salute, you won't regret it; again, Happy Day and blessings for another year and more to come: enjoy!
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=James+Barker+on+the+move+6%2F12+2023: this was yesterday 6/12 leaving Duluth;
Word of caution: do NOT have your speakers up full volume hahahahahaha!!!
So very impressive 123db’s that’s ear piercing !😳
Over 1,000 feet long ……. the captain obviously knows what he’s doing no room for error with a ship that long!😇😲
Yes, those are called "Footers", there are two terms they use, footer, which is a ship that is 1000 feet, and lakers, which are the ships that traverse the Great Lakes. There are 13 "Footers" running the lakes. And they are completely awesome to watch. The ships that occasionally come in from the ocean trips are called "Salties".
That's amazing that ships are this long and can stay under control of the captain!😀
Oh wow, happy birthday Mike, may you live to see many more days like this. The pictures are looking wonderful with the clear blue skies and calm waters. Such simple pleasures make life worth living. Thank you for sharing and keep enjoying your week :}
Thank you very much Eric, it was a good Birthday at the ocean!😊
I hope you are doing well my friend!😊

Oh wow! That elevated path over the water looks so cool! I have never been there before. Is the whole “trail” like that?
I’ll have to add this to my list of places to explore over the summer.
Looks like you had a great birthday! Happy days.
Thanks @dfinney!🤗
At least half of “ boulevard Park” has this elevated boardwalk over the water, its impressive!😊
Then the trail connects and continues both North ……and also South taking you to the Amtrak station, then to the Alaskan ferry terminal!😊
