Oh, it’s stinky!😅
In the cool of the morning Silvertop started painting …………………
Bald-Faced hornets are a real problem in the northwest!😲
I was up on our roof, painting a vented ridge soffit.
How do they say it……..
“Time is of the essence”!
The Sun was coming up fast, soon it would be too hot up top to paint!😅
These Hornets are nasty, and Silvertop as a kid was allergic !😮 They we’re flying all around me, I knew better, but Silvertop was determined to finish painting!😇
Suddenly something flew down the back of my t-shirt!😳
Silvertop was holding the painting cup that you see in the second photo………..
I quickly grabbed for the “Bug” that went down my shirt!
My hand holding the one third full painting cup went UP!😂
Paint splattered across the shingles!😲
I had a clean bucket of water up on the roof, and I quickly cleaned up my rooftop “Art deco” Lol!🤣
Silvertop looked down at the bug………
It was a Stink bug, we call these “Stinky” because you don’t want to kill one they will smell awful!😮
I let Stinky go………………
Silvertop was finished for the day!
I grabbed a late lunch, and then my backpack, for a hike up to the High Trail!
Kurt and Alma just put out their beehive, and Mike has three hives up at our trailhead.
Silvertop ventured closer than he should, to snap these photos!😇
I continued up the steep High Trail…………
I stopped in my tracks!😳
Bear scat, in two places on our trail!😳
If you look close at the second to last photo, you can see a pile on the left side of the trail!
Silvertop checked his backpack his Bear spray……….
Now how do I take that safety off Lol!
Hiking all alone, not smart Silvertop Lol!
Time to head downhill………
Maybe Mr Bear would enjoy some organic honey, instead of Silvertop!😇
Enjoy the great outdoors, but “Bee” careful…….Silvertop will as well!

I know all too well about the bald face hornets! I've been stung 4 times total since we moved here and let me tell you, it is NOT fun!

Glad the shirt bug wasn't a hornet just a humble stink bug! It's a good thing you found that safety just in case. I used to hike alone a lot when I was young, but it's always smart to have company in case you come across a wild animal!
Springtime the bears wake up and they are hungry we always try to give them wide berth !😇
I think if it had been a real bald face hornet down my shirt, I think the neighbors 5 acres away with have heard me Lol!😳
Avoid the bears and the hornets!
And the cougars Lol!😻
