The big meltdown is here!😊
That was quick Silvertop…….but that’s to be expected in March!😇
Higher up the Mountain, the snow is still hanging around.
I passed Keith and Lynne’s garden, they have patio furniture outside!😎
The third photo is what Liz calls “The First Stop”☺️
It’s a good uphill climb to reach this spot. We all pause here to catch our breath for a minute, before hiking further uphill!😅
From here the snow is hit or miss …………
I hiked up “Towhee Loop”, this trail is mostly shaded and still snow covered!
I crested the last hill before “Towhee Ridge”…………..
Hmmm, it looks like we are melting up at the picnic deck!
Soon it will be time to bring a lunch with us, and take a break up here!
Liz and Silvertop have been known to bring a guitar and music and play and sing up on this deck!😊
It’s quite a workout lugging a full sized guitar uphill Lol!😅
Today’s weather was beautiful, and I could look across the South Pass valley and see the snow line on Sumas Mountain!😊
As I was hiking back down the Mountain, I passed Lynne……………….

Spring is on the way! We still have three-foot mounds left by the plows. But it will get here too, eventually!

I remember snow piled up six foot high in June on the North side of our barn when we lived in Colorado!😊
Hiking trails is very enjoyable. There are different hills in our our city but there is no snow in our city. I want to see snow falling because I have no experience of it.
Snow can be very beautiful but cold my friend!🥶

Yes, that’s exactly true we have glaciers here😊
They can have extremely dangerous, underground caverns below the surface. If you walk over top of this on top, it can break through and you can be lost forever. 😳
Scary. I used to see such movies stuck below the ice. I might be dead if that were me.
Years ago, I heard of a snowmobile driving over top of one of these crevasses, and it collapsed !😳
The man dropped 200 feet and was stuck there for hours, luckily, they pulled him out with ropes !
