I have been cutting up and removing an old deck for several days……
This was a Cedar deck, and I am stacking the old wood until I can figure out what to do with it Lol………

This is actually quite a story, are you ready!😊
When we lived in the “High Country” of Colorado, Liz decided we needed a puppy.
It was a surprise for Silvertop and the kids!
From what the Mrs told me, (I am sure @elizabethbit will add a comment here Lol), she only wanted one puppy.
One puppy jumped in her car, followed by a second puppy!🤣
Finally Liz brought both puppies home!

In the second photo Alouka is the spotted girl on the right, Cochiti is the tan colored girl on the left!
Both are from the same litter, they are 50% Dalmatian, and 50% blue healer!
Extreme high energy Dogs!😳

Years passed and our youngest son became a Ski patrol member.
He took Cochiti to live with him at the ski resort during the Summer…….
Bill was the summer caretaker.
Loud sounds of a dog barking alerted a lady hiker.
Our son didn’t know how to swim, and he was in a mountain lake…….In trouble!😳
Our son wouldn’t be with us today if it wasn’t for these lovable girls!🥰
Both are gone now………..
Alouka almost fourteen years……….
I think I will hang onto this dog tag!🥰
Hike anyone, it has been a memorable day…………..

I did intend only to get one puppy, but I fell in love with both! It was funny; I'd get one in the car and when I'd finally get the second one in, the first one jumped out! It took forever to get them both in! No wrapping this Christmas present!!
Alouka died way to young of 'lung cancer' and although Cochiti lived to be 15 years old (she's been gone now almost 8 years!) she was truly a hero! I don't like to think what could have happened with Bill.
I do miss them😢🐶.......

That's a very heart touching true to life story about dogs. I love dogs. Is it because of the heartbreaking days when you lost them that you decided to get a cat instead? Just wondering...
A dog is adorable but when they have company you will see them a better individual not selfish. It's a good sight watching them grow together. Too bad their life is shorter...

Now that the kids are grown and married, we can take off for vacation, and Cats will take care of themselves,

Cat food feeder, and a couple of clean litter boxes, and we can take off for a weekend!😊

That is true. I like both as well. But you have a point. Easier to go away for a holiday. Dogs could get separation anxiety, not fair. Not sure about cats, though. The stray cats that we're feeding, when we go out, they're all just inside the gate to greet us when we come back 😊 But yeah, they're more independent than dogs.
Many years with both, the Mrs said she never wants to be without one or the other….😊😇
Hahaha, of course. They're a good company and they will be your babies now since your kid/s had grown up.

They were very lovable girls!
One time we were both at work, we set up a “baby gate” at the top of the stairs from the basement where they spent the day while were all gone.
We can home to find one of Liz’s large floor plants had been ripped out of its pot with large amounts of rich black potting soil scattered on our living room carpet!😳
You couldn’t be upset with them for long, they loved us as well!❤️
