GOT WATER?😀 .................................... Actifit Report Card: January 9 2023

Got water?😅
One of our “road trips” this weekend was to visit Mt. SI!😊
This Mountain stands as a massive backdrop to the town of North Bend!😲
With the clouds rolling in late in the day, we were sure to get some rain.
That is to be expected this time of year….☺️
“Liz it could be a foot of snow, or another ice storm, or an atmospheric river!”😇
Phoenix was “driving as co-pilot”!
This is one of her regular hikes that SHE takes our son Bill on!🤣
She definitely knew where she was going, and Bill needed to drive faster!🤣

The river alone the hiking trail by Mt SI is carving deep into the bank.
We needed to be careful not to step too close, it definitely would give way!
Severs times our son had to stop Phoenix from getting too close to the edge!😳
Interesting how the bank that you see in the last photo is mostly loose gravel, with just a small amount of topsoil……
Bill told us that when the river floods, where he is standing, is completely covered with water!😳
At dusk, the local Elk herds cross a busy two lane highway, and come over to where we were standing.
He said, all car traffic stops both directions, and waits, till every Elk has safely crossed over to their nighttime bedding down location!😇
We sat in his car watching several “Bull Elk” protecting the herd and guiding them closer to the road.
Slowly the Elk inched closer to the road, getting ready to cross.
Several cars had already pulled to the side of the road to watch this daily ritual!
They were close to crossing the road, and unfortunately, we couldn’t stay any longer……….
Next time……next visit, we will plan more time to sit and watch this …….😊
I asked my son if these Elk were safe from hunters.
“Yes Dad, this is protected park land!”
How nice is that!🤗
