This nice new four wheeler belongs to Dan, he is our resident Nooksack Tribal Police Officer!😊
He was stopping in to check on Mike our neighbor that just lost his Wife before Christmas………
It’s always difficult to lose a spouse, and the Holidays make it harder………😮
We have several Native America Indian Tribes in the Northwest, and Totem Poles like the one in the second photo can be found scattered throughout the town.
We also have Cherokee Native Americans that have chosen to relocate to the Pacific Northwest, like the one in the third photo!🥰😇
I was hiking back downhill when I passed Keith and Lynne in their red Tesla……….
“Silvertop we just had StarLink Internet installed! We are getting speeds of 40 to 50 Mbps!”🤗
He told me that the dish automatically tracks and rotates to stay locked onto the satellite!
Amazing technology!😊
Their home is off grid on a hilltop!
Keith went on to tell me he is upgrading his Solar electric power with all new panels, and lithium ion batteries!
Silvertop will stay tuned to this new installation, and hopefully take lots of photos!😇
This is the future for off grid electric production, and I am sure these guys will be very happy with the upgrade!🤗
I hurriedly hiked back home, tonight is a packing night…….
We will be driving down south to celebrate a late Christmas with our son and his wife because of the ice storm on Christmas Eve!🥰

Were the Totem Poles made/sculpted by some local authority or are they all created by individuals?
I believe that these were crafted by individuals, or maybe individuals that are part of the native tribe. They are impressive! 😊

Starlink! Nice! It's surely better than the promised 50mbs by telecom companies.
We are only getting 20 Mbps, where we are with fiber optic 50 would be excellent!!😊
20mbps back then is not that bad. It's just that apps and websites are upgrading too, thus an increase in mbps isn't that felt.
Down in the valley, they are putting in fiber optics. I’m sure the speeds are much faster! Our son that we spent the weekend with is getting 239 Mbps!😳
Wow! 239 MBPS. Here, the telecom network says they are installing the fiber yet there's no improvement.
Liz is jealous, we do very good with 21 Mbps, but I would love to have that fast speed!😊

Yes. There are fiber optics here already for years.
That sounds excellent, I guess we are still in the Stone Age up where we live. We have overhead telephone wires that they have doubled up for speed!😊

My neighbor Keith up the road just installed star link he’s getting 140 to 150 speeds. It’s $150 a month and he had to put $500 down payment
