My Actifit Report Card: July 21 2022

Why are we stopping Silvertop?😳
I spent the morning cleaning out the garage. The plan was to hike later in the day.
That’s when I heard heavy machinery out front on the road………..😲
Silvertop is always on the lookout for candid photos, and I had the impression that a photo shoot was right outside my gate LOL!😇
A very hot day for what they call “Chip and seal” Road repaving!
Basically they dump hot oil on the road, then they dump gravel on top of the hot oil, and use a roller to compact it!
For the next week there will be loose gravel covered in black tar that works its way loose from the road.
It’s a mess, but the road will be nice once it’s completely compacted!
It was still early in the day when I headed up for my hike. The plan was to get up our road to the trail head, before they dumped the tar, so my hiking shoes don’t get covered in tar!😬
Over five Miles , and 61 uphill floors today. I was hot as I returned back down my road.😅
Everyone has stopped working 3/4 of the way up the road, luckily in a shady spot!

It turns out that the machine they use to compact the tar and gravel had broken down!
I asked the crew how far they were going to get today? He said that they are out of tar, they are working a 4/10 hour work shift and that it is there Friday.
I could tell that they were hot and we’re ready to call it a day! I wished them good luck repairing the broke down machinery, and told him to have a great weekend when they get done!😊
