Sesión de juegos de mesa #23 // Board games session #23

Después de una semanas, vuelvo a reunirme con mi grupo de juegos de mesa. Aquí el detalle de la sesión:

After a few weeks, I meet again with my board game group. Here the details of the session:

QUARRIORS!

Por fin pude jugar este juego de dados que siempre me pareció bastante vistoso. Los jugadores tienen dados iniciales que pondrán dentro de una bolsa, en cada turno se sacará 5 dados de la bolsa para realizar diferentes acciones como comprar nuevos dados, invocar criaturas, atacar el resto y ganar puntos de gloria. La partida puede ser diferente de una a otras, ya que los dados posibles a comprar variarán.

I finally got to play this dice game that I always found quite colorful. Players have initial dice that they will put inside a bag, in each turn they will draw 5 dice from the bag to perform different actions such as buying new dice, summoning creatures, attacking the rest and gaining glory points. The game may be different from one to another, since the possible dice to buy will vary.

La partida tiene una duración inferior a la hora. Fue divertida ya que se vuelve una carrera para llegar a cierta cantidad de puntos de victoria, a la vez que la suerte de las tiradas le da mayor emoción. Me gustó el juego.

The game lasts less than an hour. It was fun as it becomes a race to reach a certain amount of victory points, while the luck of the dice rolls adds to the excitement. I enjoyed the game.

VISCOUNTS OF THE WEST KINGDOM

Juego de la colección The West Kingdom Trilogy. La primera vez que lo juego. Es un juego en el que manejamos a un personaje dentro de un mapa circular. En cada turno, haremos un paso a paso de acciones que incluyen elegir a jugar una carta, mover al personaje, intercambio de recursos, comprar nuevas cartas, obtener logros, poner ciudadanos en la construcción del centro, etc.

Game from The West Kingdom Trilogy collection. The first time I play it. It is a game in which we manage a character in a circular map. In each turn, we will make a step by step of actions that include choosing to play a card, move the character, exchange resources, buy new cards, get achievements, put citizens in the construction of the center, and so on.

Hay variadas formas de realizar puntos en el juego y se vuelve interesante ver como todo está relacionado con todo en algún grado. Las mecánicas de juego son variadas y costaría resumir el juego en una principal. Necesitaré más partidas para tener una mejor apreciación del mismo.

There are varied ways to make points in the game and it becomes interesting to see how everything is related to everything to some degree. The game mechanics are varied and it would be hard to summarize the game in one main one. I will need more playthroughs to get a better appreciation of it.

SMARTPHONE INC.

En una sesión con bastantes juegos nuevos, este es el que más me ha sorprendido de lejos. En esta ocasión, los jugadores manejan empresas de móviles, que tratarán de vender en diversos territorios alrededor del mundo, mientras eligen un buen precio así como el mejorar la tecnología.

In a session with quite a few new games, this is the one that surprised me the most by far. This time, players manage mobile companies, which they will try to sell in various territories around the world, while choosing a good price as well as improving technology.

El juego es realmente sencillo de reglas, y no costará mucho entender; sin embargo, detrás de esa sencillez guarda una elegancia en sus mecánicas, bastante disfrutable. Jugamos 2 partidas y ambas fueron entretenidas. Una partida puede durar alrededor de 80 minutos.

The game is really simple in rules, and it won't be hard to understand; however, behind that simplicity it keeps an elegance in its mechanics, quite enjoyable. We played 2 games and both were entertaining. A game can last around 80 minutes.

ARCHITECTS OF THE WEST KINGDOM

Un juego que ya he probado varias veces, pero que en esta ocasión le hemos añadido 2 expansiones: Works of Wonder y Age of Artisans. Las expansiones le añaden más opciones y variaciones, como un track enfocado en el prestigio que lo podrás usar para obtener recursos u otras posibilidades. También hay maravillas que podremos adquirir y que nos darán bastante puntos.

A game that I have already tried several times, but this time we have added 2 expansions: Works of Wonder and Age of Artisans. The expansions add more options and variations, such as a track focused on prestige that you can use to obtain resources or other possibilities. There are also wonders that we will be able to acquire and that will give us a lot of points.

Las nuevas mecánicas se sienten como una extensión más no reduce la esencia del juego como worker placement. Quisiera probar a jugarlo con más jugadores en alguna ocasión.

The new mechanics feel like an extension and do not reduce the essence of the game as a worker placement. I would like to try to play it with more players sometime.
