Dungeons & Dragons es la marca del juego de rol más conocido y popular. Si bien nunca lo he jugado se de su influencia en las últimas décadas a mucho de lo que entendemos como mundo mágico. Así que me pareció interesante ver el resultado de esta nueva incursión al cine. Este título estrenado hace poco, ha sido dirigido por John Francis Daley y Jonathan M. Goldstein.
Dungeons & Dragons is the brand of the most known and popular role-playing game. While I've never played it I know of its influence in recent decades to much of what we understand as the magical world. So I thought it would be interesting to see the result of this new incursion into cinema. This recently released title has been directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein.
Sinopsis: En un mundo de fantasía, Edgin Darvis y Holga Kilgore acaban de escapar de prisión. Luego de reunirse con la hija de Edgin y un antiguo aliado, se enteraran que un antiguo plan siempre fue un engaño. Visto que la única solución para derrotar a los enemigos de turno, es hacer un robo a un lugar difícil de entrar, deberán formar un grupo variopinto, mientras recolectan lo necesario para ejecutar tal proeza.
Synopsis: In a fantasy world, Edgin Darvis and Holga Kilgore have just escaped from prison. After meeting with Edgin's daughter and a former ally, they learn that an old plan was always a deception. Seeing that the only solution to defeat the enemies of the day, is to make a robbery to a place difficult to enter, they must form a motley crew, while collecting what is necessary to perform such a feat.
Primero recalcó el contexto, un mundo donde hay diversas razas, magia, encantamientos, dragones y relativos. El grupo protagonista que se irá formando será bien particular, cada uno con habilidades diferentes. La historia se desarrolla en forma de aventura, donde deberán adaptar el plan principal según lo que necesiten.
First he emphasized the context, a world where there are diverse races, magic, enchantments, dragons and relative. The protagonist group that will be formed will be very particular, each one with different abilities. The story develops as an adventure, where they will have to adapt the main plan according to what they need.
Tiene bastante comedia, y si funciona, me he reído varias veces. La acción también es variada y escenas de persecución o parecidos, tiene un buen resultado final gracias a la fotografía. Tiene un ritmo muy bueno, es difícil aburrirse, lo complicado tal vez sea entender muchos conceptos o partes de la historia, lo bueno es que acaban siendo reiterados.
It has a lot of comedy, and if it works, I laughed several times. The action is also varied and chase scenes or similar, it has a good final result thanks to the photography. It has a very good rhythm, it is difficult to get bored, the complicated thing may be to understand many concepts or parts of the story, the good thing is that they end up being reiterated.
La música acompaña pero se nota que es el apartado que debieron buscar sacar mayor partido.
La actuación de los personajes funciona, creo que la selección de los actores ha sido buena. Los efectos especiales hacen un buen trabajo la mayor parte del tiempo salvo algunos escasos momentos.
The music accompanies but it is noticeable that it is the section that should have sought to get more out of it.
The acting of the characters works, I think the selection of actors has been good. The special effects do a good job most of the time except for a few rare moments.
Esta película me ha acabado gustando bastante, especialmente por mostrar un mundo que se nota vivo y con muchas más historias por contar. Espero una segunda parte. Recomendable.
I ended up liking this movie quite a bit, especially for showing a world that feels alive and with many more stories to tell. I look forward to a sequel. Recommended.
