Orlando, Florida es una ciudad en EEUU que es conocida por ser el lugar de famosos parques de atracciones, centros de compras y diversas atracciones que atraen a numerosas familias; sin embargo, esta película trata de mostrarnos una cara distinta del que parece un lugar de ensueño. Se estrenó el 2017 siendo director Sean Baker.

Orlando, Florida is a city in the USA that is known for being the place of famous amusement parks, shopping malls and various attractions that attract numerous families; however, this film tries to show us a different side of what seems a dream place. It was released in 2017 with Sean Baker as director.

Sinopsis: Moone, una niña, vive con su madre Halley en “The Magic Castle” un motel. Moone trata de pasarla bien con sus amigos mientras realizan travesuras o visitas a diversos sitios. Mientras tanto, Halley trata de prolongar su estancia en el motel, consiguiendo dinero de diversas maneras.

Synopsis: Moone, a girl, lives with her mother Halley in "The Magic Castle" a motel. Moone tries to have a good time with her friends as they engage in pranks or visits to various places. Meanwhile, Halley tries to prolong her stay at the motel by getting money in various ways.

La película pone principal foco a Moone y a sus amigos, haciendo un contraste de mostrar la inocencia que tienen y viven el día a día, con la crudeza de las diversas situaciones que se muestran: desde la falta de dinero, las drogas, las enemistades, irresponsabilidades, incendios, etc. Hay bastantes situaciones que nos hará reflexionar sobre este lugar del mundo. Halley como madre intentará solucionar los problemas como puede, pero solo habrá un espiral hacia abajo, donde se prevé el resultado. Tal vez el final sea lo único que no me llega a convencer del todo.

The film puts the main focus on Moone and his friends, contrasting the innocence they have and live day to day, with the rawness of the various situations that are shown: from the lack of money, drugs, feuds, irresponsibility, fires, etc. There are many situations that will make us reflect on this part of the world. Halley as a mother will try to solve the problems as she can, but there will only be a downward spiral, where the outcome is foreseen. Perhaps the ending is the only thing that doesn't quite convince me.

Me parece original como la película es mostrada mayormente desde la vista de los niños. A su vez, también hay espacio para contar anécdotas y curiosidades, como aves típicas de la zona paseando por el motel. El trabajo en la fotografía mejora el mostrar lo llamativo y peculiar que son diversas locaciones.

I find it original how the film is shown mostly from the children's point of view. At the same time, there is also space to tell anecdotes and curiosities, such as typical birds of the area wandering around the motel. The photographic work enhances the striking and peculiar nature of the various locations.

Los niños a pesar de la corta edad, logran mantener una actuación más que aceptable. El trabajo de Bria Vinaite como Halley, es el que más me convence y yo destacó. Hay música pero no es algo importante.

The children, despite their young age, manage to maintain a more than acceptable performance. Bria Vinaite's work as Halley, is the most convincing and stood out to me. There is music but it's not a big deal.

Me parece de lo mejor que he visto en este año, la originalidad en como es narrada la historia y el mostrar esa otra cara de sitios como Orlando, la hace una gran película.

I think it's one of the best I've seen this year, the originality in how the story is told and showing that other side of places like Orlando, makes it a great movie.
