Sin novedad en el frente, es el título de un libro escrito por Erich Maria Remarque, es una obra que muestra los horrores de la primera guerra mundial, específicamente en las trincheras. Netflix acaba de estrenar hace poco una nueva adaptación de este libro, de producción alemana. Siendo su director Edward Berger.

All Quiet on the Western Front, is the title of a book written by Erich Maria Remarque, is a work that shows the horrors of the First World War, specifically in the trenches. Netflix has just recently released a new adaptation of this book, German production. Its director is Edward Berger.

Sinopsis: Paul Baumer con sus jóvenes compañeros están incentivados a participar en la guerra del lado de Alemania, viendo como muchos jóvenes como ellos se embarcan a lo mismo, y con las promesas de llegar a París en poco. Ya en campo, descubre lo terrible de la situación y cómo poco a poco, la vida de cualquier persona es efímera en ese lugar.

Synopsis: Paul Baumer with his young comrades are encouraged to participate in the war on the side of Germany, seeing how many young men like them embark on the same, and with the promises of reaching Paris in no time. Already in the field, he discovers how terrible the situation is and how little by little, the life of any person is ephemeral in that place.

Por la trama si bien hay personajes y se muestran los azares de su vida; lo importante y creo se enfoca más en mostrar esta adaptación, es el contexto. Unas trincheras en donde se desarrolla una carnicería entre ambos bandos y en la que pocos metros se mueven en el transcurso de la guerra. Es triste ver como miles de jóvenes son engañados con promesas de victoria y gloria, para acabar en una triste zanja siendo irreconocibles.

For the plot, although there are characters and the ups and downs of their lives are shown; what is important and what I think is more focused in showing this adaptation, is the context. It is sad to see how thousands of young men are deceived with promises of victory and glory, only to end up in a sad ditch unrecognizable.

Por otro lado, muestran un poco de las actividades de los soldados, de sus momentos de paz, de sus deseos cuando puedan escapar de esa situación; a su vez, se muestra un tanto de eventos históricos, como la firma de la rendición. Las escenas de horror son variadas, mostrando sin miramientos, muchos momentos de crueldad.

On the other hand, they show a little of the activities of the soldiers, of their moments of peace, of their desires when they can escape from that situation; at the same time, some historical events are shown, such as the signing of the surrender. The horror scenes are varied, showing many moments of cruelty.

Para mostrar lo anterior, la producción ha sido excelsa, desde los escenarios, vestuario, maquillaje, y otros detalles que le dan un alto grado de realismo al título. Los sonidos y soundtrack tampoco fallan, sabiendo hacer usos de ciertos sonidos para generar mayor tensión.

To show the above, the production has been excellent, from the scenery, costumes, makeup, and other details that give a high degree of realism to the title. The sounds and soundtrack do not fail either, knowing how to make use of certain sounds to generate greater tension.

Si te interesan las películas bélicas, esta ya es una de las obligadas a ver. Muy recomendable.
