Hace unos días pude ver en Prime Video la película Saltburn. Luego de ver el trailer, me esperaba cierta trama, pero no fue así, unos giros y sorpresas me esperaban. Estrenada el 2023, siendo su directora Emereld Fennell.
A few days ago I was able to watch the movie Saltburn on Prime Video. After watching the trailer, I was expecting a certain plot, but it was not so, some twists and surprises were waiting for me. Released in 2023, being its director Emereld Fennell.
Sinopsis: Oliver Quick es un nuevo estudiante en la Universidad de Oxford. Debido a su apariencia se le hace difícil hacer amigos; eso cambia cuando logra ayudar a Felix Catton en un accidente y ser su amigo. Felix Catton, al ser una persona de la clase alta, lo hará introducirse en ese mundo, y con ello ambos pasarán una temporada de verano en Saltburn, la finca de su familia adinerada. Esto cambiará su vida y la de los que lo rodean.
Synopsis: Oliver Quick is a new student at Oxford University. Because of his appearance he finds it difficult to make friends; that changes when he manages to help Felix Catton in an accident and befriend him. Felix Catton, being a person of the upper class, will introduce him to that world, and with that they will both spend a summer season at Saltburn, the estate of his wealthy family. This will change his life and the lives of those around him.
Si bien ya desde el comienzo la cinta tiene un cierto tono siniestro, es poco comparada a lo que se encuentra avanzando la película. En principio vemos el deseo del protagonista Oliver por integrarse al mundo de Felix, de los ricos y alta clase; mientras conocemos la familia de Felix y como es la vida de unas personas que tienen demasiada resuelta la vida.
Although from the beginning the film has a certain sinister tone, it is little compared to what the film finds itself advancing. At first we see the desire of the protagonist Oliver to integrate into the world of Felix, the rich and high class; while we know Felix's family and how is the life of some people who have too much resolved life.
Hay ciertos toques de comedia y drama, pero principalmente se siente ese toque siniestro. A su vez, hay variadas escenas eróticas que rozan lo bizarro y lo nunca visto. También hay variadas sorpresas y algunos giros.
There are certain touches of comedy and drama, but mainly we feel that sinister touch. At the same time, there are several erotic scenes that border on the bizarre and unseen. There are also several surprises and twists.
La película está repleta de simbolismos, en especial una escena que se desarrolla en un laberinto, que acentúa los mensajes de la cinta. El final es tremendo pero hasta cierto punto esperado.
The film is full of symbolism, especially a scene that takes place in a labyrinth, which accentuates the messages of the film. The ending is tremendous but to some extent expected.
La fotografía es simplemente espectacular no solo por juegos de luces y colores, sino por el trabajo en formas; en el mismo tema, se usa un formato tipo televisivo 4:3 que en algún sentido aprisiona a los personajes y permite viralizar. La música tiene también un buen trabajo, destacando la escena final. La actuación de Barry Keoghan como Oliver Quick destaca por lejos al resto del elenco.
The cinematography is simply spectacular, not only for the play of lights and colors, but also for the work in shapes; in the same theme, a 4:3 television-like format is used, which in some sense imprisons the characters and allows them to go viral. The music also has a good job, highlighting the final scene. Barry Keoghan's performance as Oliver Quick far outshines the rest of the cast.
Luego de esta mezcla de estilos en la fotografía, simbolismos y una trama oscura, incluyendo muchas escenas bizarras. Me queda como resultado una película intrigante, interesante y memorable.
After this mix of styles in photography, symbolism and a dark plot, including many bizarre scenes. I am left with an intriguing, interesting and memorable film.
