Con tantas producciones indias por ver, es difícil saber cuales valdrán la pena, para ello me baso en sugerencias o tops. Netflix me recomendó esta película, así que le di una oportunidad. Estrenada el 2018, siendo su director R. Balki.
With so many Indian productions to watch, it's hard to know which ones will be worth it, for that I rely on suggestions or tops. Netflix recommended this movie to me, so I gave it a shot. Released in 2018, being its director R. Balki.
Sinopsis: Arunachalam Muruganantham, acaba de casarse en un poblado de la India. Viviendo el día a día, se percata de que ciertos días del mes ella tiene que cumplir cierto ritual de vivir fuera de casa y usando métodos antihigiénicos para manejar su periodo. Buscando una solución decide crear una versión barata de una toalla higiénica. Esto lo llevará a toda una travesía que lo hará ser conocido como Padman.
Synopsis: Arunachalam Muruganantham, just got married in a village in India. Es una película que refleja como una situación en un matrimonio acaba generando un cambio grande en la salubridad de las mujeres de la India. Tiene varios temas que se tratan, como el tratar temas tabú, emprendimiento, sobrellevar la confrontación general, etc. Es una historia que desde el comienzo puedes predecir un tanto al final, pero no deja de ser interesante de ver.
It is a film that reflects how a situation in a marriage ends up generating a big change in the sanitation of women in India. It has several themes that are dealt with, such as dealing with taboo subjects, entrepreneurship, coping with general confrontation, etc. It's a story that from the beginning you can somewhat predict the ending, but it's still interesting to watch.
Si bien creo que en la mayoría de la película el ritmo es correcto, hay momentos en que la dinámica cambia mucho, como cuando hay una especie de exposición en un auditorio, que no llegan a mezclar bien con la dinámica ya mostrada. Por otro lado, más allá de que se basa en una historia real, el desenlace amoroso no me acabó gustando.
While I think that in most of the film the pace is correct, there are moments when the dynamics change a lot, as when there is a kind of exhibition in an auditorium, which do not get to mix well with the dynamics already shown. On the other hand, beyond the fact that it is based on a true story, I didn't like the love ending.
Como toda película India hay bastantes secuencias con buenas canciones. La actuación es aceptable pero no destacable. El nivel de producción en los escenarios y secuencias con bastantes personas es bueno.
Like any Indian movie there are quite a few sequences with good songs. The acting is acceptable but not outstanding. The level of production on the sets and sequences with quite a few people is good.
Es una película entretenida para ver, sobre cómo se van gestando los cambios en la India, y el proceso complicado que puede llegar a ser.
It is an entertaining movie to watch, about how changes are brewing in India, and the complicated process it can be.
