Mi anime y manga favorito de deporte es Hajime no Ippo, uno dedicado al boxeo. En el caso del anime de hoy, con temática parecida, esperaba algo bueno, pero resultó ser un tanto irregular. El título se estrenó el 2018 con 13 episodios. Fue producido por TMS Entertainment y dirigido por Yō Moriyama. Está basado en el manga del mismo nombre de Chikara Sakuma.

My favorite sports anime and manga is Hajime no Ippo, one dedicated to boxing. In the case of today's anime, with a similar theme, I was expecting something good, but it turned out to be somewhat uneven. The title premiered on 2018 with 13 episodes. It was produced by TMS Entertainment and directed by Yō Moriyama. It is based on the manga of the same name by Chikara Sakuma.

Sinopsis: Un joven boxeador con su entrenador, está inmerso en el mundo del Megalobox clandestino, dejándose ganar para obtener ganancias en las apuestas; sin embargo, luego de un encuentro con Yuri, el mejor luchador de Megalobox, el joven que tomará el nombre de Joe, decidirá participar en el torneo de Megalonia para reencontrarse con Yuri.

Synopsis: A young boxer with his trainer, is immersed in the underground Megalobox world, letting himself win to make a profit in betting; however, after a meeting with Yuri, the best Megalobox fighter, the young man who will take the name Joe, will decide to participate in the Megalonia tournament to reunite with Yuri.

Megalo Box es un tipo de boxeo, en el que se le agrega una especie de mejoras mecánicas cerca a los brazos y hombres de un luchador, aumentando sus habilidades físicas. La trama acompaña a Joe tratando de subir en el ranking de megalobox profesional para poder participar en el torneo. Esto le hará luchar con diversos luchadores, hacerse de aliados y tener que sortear diversos obstáculos.

Megalo Box is a type of boxing, in which a kind of mechanical enhancements are added near the arms and men of a fighter, increasing his physical abilities. The plot follows Joe trying to climb the professional megalobox ranking in order to participate in the tournament. This will make him fight with various wrestlers, make allies and have to overcome various obstacles.

La trama veo que tiene varios problemas, el principal a mi parecer, es el de abrir varios temas pero nunca cerrar del todo las mismas, y tampoco volviendo alguna demasiado interesante, lo que tampoco permite desarrollar mejor a los variados personajes. Incluso en mi caso, el protagonista resulta ser poco carismático y me costo sentir animo por que gane sus peleas. Otro punto es que si bien meten el tema de megalobox, no es que lo desarrollen sino que acaba siendo mero adorno que incluso llegan a dejar de lado, quitando sentido al título del anime. Y el final de la serie no lo pudieron hacer más anticlimático.

The plot I see has several problems, the main one in my opinion, is to open several themes but never completely close them, and neither making any of them too interesting, which also does not allow to better develop the various characters. Even in my case, the main character turns out to be not very charismatic and it was hard for me to feel encouraged for him to win his fights. Another point is that although they include the megalobox theme, it is not that they develop it, but it ends up being a mere decoration that they even leave aside, taking away the meaning of the title of the anime. And the ending of the series could not have been more anticlimactic.

La animación cumple y hace un trabajo más que aceptable. El punto realmente bueno es la música que funciona tanto en opening y ending, e incluso canciones rap dentro de los episodios.

The animation complies and does a more than acceptable job. The really good point is the music that works both in opening and ending, and even rap songs within the episodes.

Hay una 2da temporada pero dudo que acabe viéndola.

There is a 2nd season but I doubt I'll end up watching it.
