No sé por qué se me hizo tan pesado comenzar esta película, estando ya en mi lista “por ver” por bastante tiempo. Lo bueno es que apenas comencé a verla, me enganché rápido y la disfruté bastante. Fue estrenada en el 2015, siendo su director Alejandro Gonzáles Iñárritu. Se recuerda mucho que con este título Leonardo DiCaprio obtuvo su Oscar a mejor actor.

I don't know why I found it so hard to start this movie, being already on my "to watch" list for quite some time. The good thing is that as soon as I started watching it, I got hooked quickly and enjoyed it a lot. It was released in 2015, being its director Alejandro Gonzáles Iñárritu. It is well remembered that with this title Leonardo DiCaprio won his Oscar for best actor.

Sinopsis: En 1823, nos encontramos con una expedición dedicada a recolectar pieles, entre los miembros se encuentra Hugh Glass y su hijo Hawk. Glass al ser atacado e inmovilizado por un oso, verá cómo ocurre un crimen delante de sus ojos. Esto le hará buscar venganza en un territorio hostil, con un clima extremo y tribus de nativos americanos poco amigables.

Synopsis: In 1823, we meet an expedition dedicated to collect furs, among the members is Hugh Glass and his son Hawk. Glass being attacked and immobilized by a bear, will see how a crime occurs before his eyes. This will make him seek revenge in a hostile territory, with an extreme climate and unfriendly Native American tribes.

Llevo bastante tiempo que no veo una película con temáticas parecidas(tribus nativas, expediciones, venganza) a la de este título, así que la he sentido bastante original en su trama. Aquí el crear un antagonista, John Fitzgerald, tan marcado sirve bastante para darle dirección y juego a la historia, el trabajo de Tom Hardy en ese sentido es destacable.

It's been a long time since I've seen a film with similar themes (native tribes, expeditions, revenge) to this title, so I felt it was quite original in its plot. Here the creation of an antagonist, John Fitzgerald, so marked serves quite well to give direction and play to the story, Tom Hardy's work in that sense is remarkable.

Por otro lado, también hay mucho hombre versus naturaleza, en donde principalmente Hugh tendrá que usar todas sus posibilidades para sobrevivir en un ambiente feroz. La famosa escena del oso vs Hugh es brutal e intensa, de lo mejor. Por la actuación de DiCaprio como el protagonista se entiende como consiguió tantos premios. Tal vez el punto negativo, sea ciertos tiempos muertos en donde el ritmo baja, pero creo que ello palidece con los variados puntos positivos del título.

On the other hand, there is also a lot of man vs. nature, where mainly Hugh will have to use all his possibilities to survive in a fierce environment. The famous bear vs Hugh scene is brutal and intense, one of the best. DiCaprio's performance as the main character is the reason why he got so many awards. Perhaps the negative point is certain dead times where the pace slows down, but I think it pales with the many positive points of the title.

Una de las preguntas que me hago cuando veo los escenarios mostrados en este tipo de películas, es cuanto es CGI y cuanto es real, ya que se vuelve difícil distinguirlos. Los escenarios son bastante envolventes, mostrando lo duro que es que la vida se propague por ahí.

One of the questions I ask myself when I see the scenarios shown in this type of film, is how much is CGI and how much is real, as it becomes difficult to distinguish them. The scenarios are quite immersive, showing how hard it is for life to spread out there.

Concluyó que es una excelente película, con una fantástica fotografía, dirección y actuación. En donde la trama con sus apartados originales, logra atraparte en su historia de venganza. Muy recomendable.
