Si bien hay muchas películas bélicas, en los últimos años han destacado las que narran eventos de las guerras mundiales; sin embargo, esta película nos muestra una guerra reciente, la desarrollada en Afganistán. Estrenada este año en Amazon Prime. Siendo su director Guy Ritchie.

Although there are many war movies, in recent years those that narrate events of the world wars have stood out; however, this film shows us a recent war, the one that took place in Afghanistan. Released this year on Amazon Prime. Its director is Guy Ritchie.

Sinopsis: John Kinley es un sargento ubicado en Afganistán, en la guerra contra los talibanes. Después de perder a un intérprete local, debe contratar a uno nuevo, llamado Ahmed. Si bien al comienzo hay algunas fricciones por la actitud del intérprete, se desarrolla un lazo fuerte con John, a tal punto que se creará un pacto entre ellos.

Synopsis: John Kinley is a sergeant located in Afghanistan, in the war against the Taliban. After losing a local interpreter, he must hire a new one, named Ahmed. Although there is some friction at the beginning because of the interpreter's attitude, a strong bond develops with John, to the point that a pact will be created between them.

Es una trama que muestra una situación en donde los 2 personajes principales, deberán cumplir las promesas con el otro. John desea combatir con los talibanes y sobrevivir, mientras Ahmed desea las visas americanas para él y su familia.

It is a plot that shows a situation where the 2 main characters must fulfill their promises to each other. John wants to fight with the Taliban and survive, while Ahmed wants American visas for himself and his family.

El título tiene 3 etapas, una introductoria, una incursión y un rescate. Si bien la introducción ya nos muestra buenos momentos, es cuando se realiza una incursión que la película muestra sus mejores momentos. Mostrando de manera realista lo que es una batalla actual entre soldados y talibanes. A su vez, la cinta narra de manera creativa muchos momentos, como cuando se muestra un flashback del protagonista.

The title has 3 stages, an introductory one, a raid and a rescue. While the introduction already shows us good moments, it is when a raid takes place that the film shows its best moments. It shows in a realistic way what a real battle between soldiers and Taliban is like. At the same time, the film creatively narrates many moments, such as when a flashback of the protagonist is shown.

Por otro lado, el trasfondo bélico, mientras nos cuenta un poco de lo importante que fue el apoyo de locales para combatir, acaba siendo interesante, y que nos deja con un mensaje final para la reflexión.

On the other hand, the war background, while telling us a little of how important was the support of locals to fight, ends up being interesting, and that leaves us with a final message for reflection.

Se nota el trabajo de una buena producción para darnos escenarios, personajes, vestuarios que nos pone en la piel de los protagonistas. A su vez, los sonidos están bien trabajados, especialmente para los momentos de tensión. La actuación de Jake Gyllenhaal como el protagonista es destacable.

We can notice the work of a good production to give us scenarios, characters, costumes that puts us in the skin of the protagonists. At the same time, the sounds are well worked, especially for the moments of tension. Jake Gyllenhaal's performance as the main character is outstanding.
