Cada vez se siente más que ya estamos en los últimos años de las películas de superhéroes. Aun recuerdo cuando cada película era un evento que llenaba infinidad de salas en cada país. Ahora, todo es diferente. Este título, el último lanzado por DC no ha tenido mucha acogida. Aun así quise darle una oportunidad. El director fue Angel Manuel Soto.

It feels more and more like we are already in the last years of superhero movies. I still remember when every movie was an event that filled countless theaters in every country. Now, everything is different. This title, the last one released by DC has not had a great reception. Even so, I wanted to give it a chance. The director was Angel Manuel Soto.

Sinopsis: Jaime Reyes acaba de graduarse, por lo que vuelve a su casa, para vivir con su familia y tratar de conseguir empleo; sin embargo, tras situaciones peculiares, acaba involucrándose con la familia Kord, quien maneja una empresa de armas. Con ello, tras escapar con un pequeño escarabajo azul e interactuar con él, adquirirá los poderes de Blue Beetle. Tras ello, buscará la manera de volver a la normalidad, con la ayuda de su familia.

Synopsis: Jaime Reyes has just graduated, so he returns home to live with his family and try to get a job; however, after some peculiar situations, he ends up getting involved with the Kord family, who runs an arms company. With this, after escaping with a small blue beetle and interacting with him, he will acquire the powers of Blue Beetle. After that, he will look for a way to return to normality, with the help of his family.

Es una historia enfocada en mostrar el nacimiento de una nuevo superhéroe, mezclandolo con las relaciones familiares, y como esta puede ayudarnos a superar los diversos problemas. Si bien el concepto puede ser divertido para intentar. El resultado es irregular e incluso malo, en muchos tramos de la película.

It is a story focused on showing the birth of a new superhero, mixing it with family relationships, and how this can help us overcome various problems. While the concept can be fun to try. The result is uneven and even bad, in many stretches of the film.

Si bien no hay muchos personajes, creo que se necesitaba un mejor desarrollo de los mismos, ya que hay varios momentos de situaciones incoherentes o bien raras, que sin una explicación se sienten un error. Por otro lado, la historia principal ni sus villanos son interesantes, volviéndose un tedio la segunda mitad del título. Al menos hay una que otro buen chiste.

While there are not many characters, I think a better character development was needed, as there are several moments of incoherent or else weird situations, that without an explanation feel like a mistake. On the other hand, neither the main story nor its villains are interesting, making the second half of the title a tedium. At least there is one or two good jokes.

Un punto bueno es su CGI y efectos especiales, en gran parte cumplen o dejan un buen resultado, salvo algunas excepciones. Hay bastante música, con tracks que ayudan a poner el ambiente en muchos momentos, es bueno. La actuación, salvo pocos actores, incluyendo al protagonista, deja mucho que desear.

A good point is its CGI and special effects, mostly they comply or leave a good result, with a few exceptions. There is enough music, with tracks that help to set the mood in many moments, it is good. The acting, except for a few actors, including the main character, leaves much to be desired.

En general si bien tiene ideas interesantes y la comedia cumple, no llega a funcionar como un producto completo, especialmente con esa duración de 2 horas.

Overall, while it has interesting ideas and the comedy delivers, it doesn't quite work as a complete product, especially with its 2-hour running time.
