Reseña anime: Nausicaä del Valle del Viento // Anime review: Kaze no Tani no Naushika
Antes de que naciera Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki como director, hizo su segunda película de animación con el estudio Topcraft, es la que reseño en esta ocasión. Se basó en una historia propia de Miyazaki. Fue estrenada en 1984.
Before Ghibli was born, Hayao Miyazaki as a director made his second animated film with the Topcraft studio, the one I am reviewing here. It was based on Miyazaki's own story. It was released in 1984.
Sinopsis: En un mundo cubierto por un bosque de vapores tóxicos llamado Fukai, la humanidad vive desplegada en pequeños pueblos y ciudades. En el Valle del Viento vive Nausicaa, la princesa del mismo. Ella verá cómo su pueblo se verá inmerso en un problema que involucra otros pueblos, grandes insectos, el Fukai, dioses antiguos y su habilidad para relacionarse con unas criaturas llamadas Ohms.
Synopsis: In a world covered by a forest of toxic fumes called Fukai, humanity lives spread out in small towns and cities. In the Valley of the Wind lives Nausicaa, the princess of the same. She will see how her village will be immersed in a problem involving other villages, large insects, the Fukai, ancient gods and her ability to relate to creatures called Ohms.
La historia muestra como el Valle es invadido por el reino de Torumekia debido a un accidente, y que a su vez hay un conflicto con el reino de Pejite. Esto genera diversos problemas, pero el principal es que los pueblos pueden ser arrasados por los vapores tóxicos y las criaturas. Nausicaa es principalmente una mediadora, además de que intenta resolver todo los problemas que puede.
The story shows how the Valley is invaded by the kingdom of Torumekia due to an accident, and that in turn there is a conflict with the kingdom of Pejite. This creates several problems, but the main one is that villages can be wiped out by toxic fumes and creatures. Nausicaa is mainly a mediator, plus she tries to solve as many problems as she can.
La historia es interesante pero hay algunos problemas, principalmente en cómo se cuenta, ya que hay cosas que no se muestran como el conflicto de Pejite y Torumekia, o cómo ocurren ciertas acciones aleatorias, que cuesta relacionarlas con lo que pasa; haciendo que entender la historia se vuelva un tanto complicado, y te puede dejar a llegar aburrido. Aun así hay bastantes momentos de acción y combate que le dan dinamismo.
The story is interesting but there are some problems, mainly in how it is told, as there are things that are not shown as the conflict of Pejite and Torumekia, or how certain random actions occur, which is hard to relate them with what happens; making understanding the story becomes somewhat complicated, and can leave you to get bored. Even so, there are quite a few moments of action and combat that give it dynamism.
La animación ya muestra muchas cosas que se vieron en posteriores películas de Ghibli. Es buena, pero ya se le nota los años. Hay un problema con el enfoque, ya que la pantalla tiembla un poco(o al menos eso me ocurrió, al verlo en Netflix); por otro lado hay un abuso en poner transiciones innecesarias, como mostrar a Nausicaa llegar de un punto a otro. Lo mejor son las escenas de combate. La música tiene su sello propio.
The animation already shows many things seen in later Ghibli films. It's good, but the years are showing. There is a problem with the focus, since the screen shakes a little (or at least that happened to me, watching it on Netflix); on the other hand there is an abuse in putting unnecessary transitions, like showing Nausicaa arriving from one point to another. The best are the combat scenes. The music has its own stamp.
Me gusta la película pero el problema de cómo ha sido contada me dificulta recomendarla mucho. Si te gusta Ghibli y ver el preludio de su inicio, este título puede ser una gran opción.
I like the movie but the problem of how it has been told makes it difficult for me to recommend it much. If you like Ghibli and see the prelude to its inception, this title may be a great choice.
