Uno de los mejores videojuegos de las últimas décadas, se volvió tan popular al punto que tiene su propia serie en Netflix. Sin embargo, por limitaciones técnicas no pude probarlo en su momento. Gracias a una buena oferta y al tener ya una pc en condiciones, ya pude probar y completar el juego principal. Su lanzamiento fue en el 2015, desarrollado por CD Projekt RED.

One of the best video games of the last decades, it became so popular that it has its own series on Netflix. However, due to technical limitations I could not try it at the time. Thanks to a good offer and having already a pc in conditions, I was able to try and complete the main game. Its release was in 2015, developed by CD Projekt RED.

La historia del juego nos muestra a Geralt de Rivia, un brujo con diversos poderes y una gran capacidad de combate en su búsqueda de Ciri, una ex-alumna suya que está siendo perseguida por La Cacería Salvaje.

The story of the game shows us Geralt of Rivia, a sorcerer with diverse powers and a great combat ability in his search for Ciri, a former student of his who is being pursued by The Wild Hunt.

La historia muestra un mundo que mezcla lo medieval con lo mágico. Entre lo que encontraremos están monstruos de todo tipo, guerreros, ladrones, brujos, hechiceras, reyes, conspiraciones, venganzas, etc. Muchas de las misiones traen historias tenebrosas, que recuerdan a cuentos siniestros. El contexto es bien rico e incluye incluso otras dimensiones y lo que más odia Geralt, viaje en portales.

The story shows a world that mixes the medieval with the magical. Among what we will find are monsters of all kinds, warriors, thieves, sorcerers, witches, sorceresses, kings, conspiracies, revenge, etc. Many of the quests bring dark stories, reminiscent of sinister tales. The context is quite rich and even includes other dimensions and what Geralt hates the most, portal travel.

El sistema de juego me recuerda a WOW, ya que hay misiones desperdigadas por todas las locaciones, siendo mapas inmensos. En cada misión nos veremos normalmente con combates o situaciones donde se usen los poderes del brujo. Algunas de estas harán progresar la historia, y otras servirán para complementar. Lo que puedo decir es que cada misión intenta tener un mínimo de gracia e interés, no busca ser un relleno sin valor.

The game system reminds me of WOW, as there are missions scattered all over the locations, being huge maps. In each mission we will usually see combat or situations where the wizard's powers are used. Some of these will progress the story, and others will serve to complement. What I can say is that each mission tries to have a minimum of grace and interest, it does not seek to be a filler without value.

El sistema de combate es otro apartado destacable, ya que cada tipo de enemigo como los fantasmas o grifos, tendrá un modo diferente para enfrentarlos, también tendrán sus particulares debilidades, que aprovecharemos con los hechizos de brujos, runas, pociones, etc. El valor del juego depende mucho de cómo han desarrollado este apartado, las peleas pueden ser bastante emocionantes, sumadas a una cinemáticas sangrientas mostradas en los ataques finales.

The combat system is another noteworthy section, since each type of enemy such as ghosts or griffins, will have a different way to face them, they will also have their particular weaknesses, which we will take advantage of with witch spells, runes, potions, etc. The value of the game depends a lot on how they have developed this section, the fights can be quite exciting, added to a bloody cinematic shown in the final attacks.

Los otros sistemas, como pueden ser el comercio, la armadura, las runas, la alquimia o la artesanía; sirven de complemento para un intrincado y completo juego. E incluso incluye su propio juego de cartas, llamado Gwent. El Gwent es un juego de cartas que recuerdan a Magic the Gathering o Hearthstone. Llegó a funcionar tanto, que ya existe el juego de manera separada con varias expansiones, rankings y más. Lo recomiendo.

The other systems, such as trade, armor, runes, alchemy or crafting, serve as a complement to an intricate and complete game. And it even includes its own card game, called Gwent. Lo divertido también es explorar los secretos del mapa, ya que contiene innumerables incógnitas que sólo se mostrarán cuando llegues a esos territorios.

El trabajo de las voces solo pueden definirse como excelentes. La música es un gran apartado, entre los mejores OST de videojuegos que recuerdo. Muchos momentos ganan bastante con la música.

The voice work can only be defined as excellent. The music is a great section, among the best video game OSTs I can remember. Many moments gain a lot with the music.

Ya solo queda mencionar que el juego me pareció excelente, si bien tiene una larga duración(por las 80 horas), no dudo que los valió. Ahora me queda terminar las expansiones, de las cuales sacaré comentarios.
