World Cycling Day - A Duo Club Ride In Uyo City

One of the best rides of the year

When we left. Everywhere was still cloudy with the weather man suggesting a wind storm prior to the time we will be on the ride. We started off @ villa Hilton and then met others @ plaza. They were a much larger group and as we went. Those who saw us joined making the number large and the fun more.

We went to the station and their top staffs appreciated with a speech, thanking us for supporting the World Cycling Day and that we have their support. After the speech, he also switched from a uniform man to a cyclist in his cycling suit and bike. We literally had all ages and sizes as long as they know how to ride, 1, and respect safety measures, 2.

The arrangement and uniformity, having to stick to a partner. As we were over 25, cycling in a single file will cause more traffic and breaks as we rolled together. We also had 2 service vehicles one in front and back to ensure smooth traffic flow. With the number of people and bikes I saw, I was just happy, the type of vibe I always wanted—ridding together in a large group. But the joy and vibe didn't end there.

The rain came, although it cut the route we planned to take, one thing was sure. As the rain showered on us, the grip to the road that the tires had on the road, the chills, and the fact you aren't sweating or breathing heavily as the rain slowed heart rate. True, the wind and splashes along with the reduced visibility posed a challenge, but seeing everyone moving along with it with a new refreshed energy, it was the Best.

When we got to a stop, an eatery for for refreshments, our whole bodies was wet. Wait...we has to give all our smartphones over to the vehicles to avoid water sipping into them. Safety measures! With the padded shorts, shoes, gloves, even the socks and tops, everything was just dripping.

It was really amazing. We had a special other, it came in hot. Freshly baked meat pies with drinks. We talked about bikes, gists and laughter filled the air.. we really occupied space, almost the entire space, lol.

Having a day specifically for us is really lovely. We should do this more often, maybe more holidays for cyclists and bike lovers like myself. The numbers, the more fun.
